I have a toshiba l300-19y 2ghz core 2 duo,vista,3gb ram, intel 4500mhd and i want to play riddick:butchers bay but cant run it.Anyone know why and any solutions please.
-
because your laptop has an integrated GPU, which lacks the graphical horsepower to run a demanding program such as a computer game.
-
I suggest you double check the video system requirements to see if it can run it. -
When i click icon it says runtime error,program...studios\riddick EFBB\system\win32.x86.SE22\sbzengine.exe.Followed by abnormal program termination
-
Try right clicking the .exe icon > Proprties > Compatibility tab > Run in XP2 compatibility mode and tick Run as Administrator.
I did a quick google and your graphics card should be able to play it on medium-high settings. Its a pretty old game. -
Tried what you suggested still got same problem
-
Did your restart your laptop? Youll need to restart it for the compatibility to take effect.
-
Yep restarted laptop still the same.
-
it should run. i had the nvidia 7150m from last year or so and i could play doom 3 on med/low settings.i thought riddick ran on the doom 3 engine. and the intergrated card you have is more better than the 7150m i had.if its a torrented game then maybe you did something wrong lol

Try this

BTW, Riddick: Butcher's Bay will be redone entirely with the new gfx engine and included with "Assault on Dark Athena" when released laster this spring.
I loved that game and played it through twice. Looking forward to another run through with improved graphics.
Problem is that Dark Athena is also a console game too, so I hope they don't lose too much for the PC. Granted, the original riddick could have easily been a console game too. Nothing too fancy with controls. -
Will try that when i finish work, cheers for the help.

Where are the sound options?
-
Forgot to say i have 32 bit vista,i have downloaded patch.
-
I checked everywhere for eax and not found files in sound options, been online and quite a few people are having similar problems with game.Ithink i will just give up on game.
-
I have the Intel X3100 and XP, riddick wasn't working with the new drivers. I had to install Intel drivers from 2007 to make it work. (The error was that OpenGL wasn't starting).
Maybe it's the same problem that I had.
Edit:
Just read your third post, problems seems to be with your sound blaster.
good luck... -

To get this game to work on my G1SN, I had to use Rivatuners compatibility setting, OpenGL version string override set to 1.5.
If this is not done then it thinks you don't have the correct version. The patch did not help me, only doing that setting in Rivatuner helped.
