I found Rollercoaster Tycoon 3 a few days ago in my closet, and decided to take break from Call of Duty (until I get a better mouse) and play that instead. I remember me being obsessed with Tycoon games when I was younger. Anyone here play RCT3?

Original RCT + Corkscrew Follies + Loopy Landscapes was the best, hands down. RCT2 was good, RCT3 just plain sucked. :p

It's so buggy. All I can speak for is there's one mission where the CEO or VIP visits, and to get the Tycoon award he has to go on a rollercoaster with an excitement rating of 7+. But he keeps on going on things like slides or merry-go-rounds, and says that my roller coasters aren't good enough. And the patches are supposed to fix this, but they won't recognize that I installed the game, since they're installed in the Program Files (x86) folder as opposed to the regular Program Files folder.

Totally agree. I loved playing the original RCT + expansions.

I hate patches that don't recognize where games are installed if it's not in the default directory. Some older LucasArts games have this issue.

Not sure why you guys hate it so much, I only found a very few bugs that are annoying... I mean the original RCT is good, but 3 is not that bad IMO.

OMG, I just found my original RCT the other day. I have to run it in compatibility mode for Windows XP, but otherwise I can spend hours playing that game. Literally the most simple game ever, but super SUPER fun.

RCT is a great game. And I have RCT3 and love it too. Graphics are pretty good and it's still fun. Lot to keep up with though.

I have 2 and 3, but I never really messed around with 3 since I got my new computer. I wonder how well it would run.

I pretty sure that when I first got RCT+ the expansions followed by RCT2, my 3 weeks of my life disappeared. People complain about GTA and all the mess it causes, RCT ate my childhood.

Are you running it in compatibility mode for Windows XP SP2? You have to on windows 7 64/32. For some reason I can't get it to work on any other compatibility mode.

OMG! I loved the first and 2nd one! I still have it installed so fun! But the series kinda went down hill for me when it went 3D. My parks never made any money and was always in debt, but man was it fun.
