    Rome TW performance in 8400gs

    Hi!!

    i am trying Rome TW in a following laptop:

    Core 2 Duo, T7700
    2Gb RAM
    160GB 7200RPM
    8400GS

    I have the latest drivers of everything.

    The problem is that when running the game at maximum graphics quality (no AA and no AF), with HUGE troops in a DESERT (not much graphics detail) i get around 10fps average with less than 20 regiments in the screen.

    I thought that i would be able to get something more from this system, on a pretty old and very well optimized game :(

    Any ideas on how to solve this?

    Try turning off "advanced shadows" and "soft shadows".

    That should get you a large FPS increase with almost no decrease in visual quality. :D

    Rome total war is one of the best games ever!

    Shadows aren't the problem,single core pc with low video cards(ex.radeon 9800) can run that game at maximum settings,so with you cpu rome would fly!
    Force v-sync off from control panel or use direct3d overrider from rivatuner
    and download all latest patch of the game of course...

    "20 regiments in the screen"
    How many units are a regiment???
