How well would I be able to run this kind of game. I heard you need a monster of a machine to run at high detail... My specs are below.
Processor: Q6600
Graphics Card: X1950 XT 256 MB
2 GB RAM
320 GB Hard Drive
Windows Xp
Should I be able to play this game pretty well? Don't get my graphics card confused with the cheaper X1950 pro. The X1950 XT is not quite as powerful as the 8800 GTS 320 MB, but it gets close.

yeah you should be able to, my friend ran it on high details wit his G1S which has the 8600GT.
-
Does anyone know how well the game is?? Any pros/cons about the game. I'm about to get it, but if it's not that great of a game, then of course I won't want it.

I wouldn't say its the most interesting game in the world...didn't really like the shooting either, worth a try in the price is right
The Orange Box is greatgot my copy today
-
I never understood what the "orange box" is. Doesn't that relate to Half life 2 or something. What's the game supposed to be about?
-
It's one of the best gaming deals ever! The Orange Box includes Half Life 2, the 2 episodes 1 and 2, Portal which is the most bizarre and mind bendingly aweosme game I've played (since Sam and Max Hit The Road), and also comes bundled with Team Fortress 2, which looks like a Pixar movie gone very very wrong. But a good kind of wrong.
Best money I ever spent. -
Cons: No vehicles. Dynamic lighting kills framerate (no noticible difference when viewed), No native AA.
Still, it's an interesting concept and you should really try it out. I enjoyed it all the way to the end except for the missions that have you running back and forth through the map (once again, no vehicles) -
I am a big FPS fan and I did enjoy STALKER. I think the biggest con is that it takes a while to get into it (slow beginning). Once you get past the first few hours it gets fun...and hard...

lol my 1520 with 8600m gt ran it very badly but my old desktop with a 5700 ran it on medium well XD. so its hard to tell you should be fine though

Just turn off the advanced lighting setting and it'll run like butter. There is a program out there that tunes the advanced lighting to improve frame rates though here:
