Is it better then the first? I wasn't impressed with it but the 2nd one sounds like it's getting great reviews

its plain awesome. graphics are Top notch, Gameplay is freaking awesome! the AI is plenty smart, and the gameplay is sooo dynamic
-
Cool, started the download an hour ago
-
is it playable on the 8600m gt ddr2?
-
-
is it recommended to play the first stalker before going into this game?
-
can someone with an 8400gs report in on what kind of FPS they get on static lighting and what res?
-

From what I gather in the reviews, you won't lose anything if you play Clear Sky first or only one. I guess lots of areas are the same, just an earlier time frame.

Anyone still playing this on a 6831 FX? I like the game but the random Vista BSOD's are 'killin me.
I'm leaning toward new video drivers but checking to see if anyone has tried different drivers with good results with the 8800GTS.
I'm still running old 167.46 with Steam's latest Patch 1.5.05.
TIA -
i started playing it on my 6860FX and i also get the BSOD's a lot. i'm using the 177.85 driver. i think i read it caused by a memory leak or something like that.

So this is the worst optimized game in the history!!! Its totally unplayable in DX10. Even DX9 is screwed up in here. In WSXGA I get better fps with 8xAA then without it!!!! its just sooo weird. This game needs some serious power!! Also it only utilizes one of my 4 cores!!!?? W.T.F!??? The only game really that needs that much ower to run is Crysis but at least there we do get the visual goodies. Clear sky in terms of performance is a total let down. Lets hope the gameplay is good.

since I got my HD 4850's the game runs completely maxed out perfect, over 100fps in 1920x1080 all max. In single card mode it still runs mostly maxed out at over 60fps avg.. Also make sure you have the latest update.. it increases performance ALOT. -
I personally found clear sky disappointing, but loved STALKER.
I would have preferred to play clear sky first. -
I ve installed 1505 patch and still no go. Performance is terrible. I get about 30% more FPS in FarCry2 then a single 4850 so I dont know whats causing the problem
-
Other than random BSOD's, broken quest, and lot's of other flaws, I still enjoy the game. I make no excuses for the poor performance on my laptop.
I think even the Stalkers are bummed..NO Stalker babes
I take it that people using ATI GPU's are not getting BSOD's as unknown55525's desktop? Glad to hear some can run it maxed..enjoy! -
Two weeks ago when I was running on a single 8800GT, and when I was still gaming on my Sager with a 8700m GT the game DID crash ALOT! I beat the game for the first time on my 8800GT desktop, and the game crashed probebly over 100 times during my play through. Also one of my game saves got corrupt after I saved during one of those radiation storm things, and had to start out about 4 hours before that point with one of my older saves.
But yea, after I got these HD 4850's, the game is extremely smooth maxed out, and hasn't crashed yet.. I'm also playing it through right now with a few mods, and still no crashing..
On a side note, the game RUNS on my Acer aspire one!Ok yea I know it's a net top, but it runs! and sorta playable at about 10-15fps avg on lowest settings in 1024x600

i can't even play for 5 minutes without getting a blue screen. i tried to play the other day and now my saves don't work.
