So its recommended to skip clear sky? what do I miss if I don't play that? Cause I'm thinking of buying the stalker series, if clear sky isn't worth it then I'll cross it out.

Clear Sky gives you a little idea of what happened before SHoC.. If you just dont go nuts on the main story then its actually a pretty cool game... Faction Wars and relations etc. Also making sure to play with Complete or something, that fixes a lot of bugs.

Who recommends that? It just wasn't part of the recent Steam sale. Clear Sky is a prequel. It is about Strelok's first visit to the center of the zone, covers his motivations and what he will do regardless of consequences to get what he wants. The three S.T.A.L.K.E.R. games are really one complete story. Patched to the most recent it is fine, but it can be a system killer. Besides you would miss the swamps which were really quite well done.

    I have a better idea.

I really don't know if your post was extreme sarcasm or a straight up gtfo, but the fact that you insist that I should stop playing due to the games "buffed" A.I. is pretty damn un-gamerish of you.

Up-frikin-date: Installed the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. complete mod, AI now behaves and dies accordingly.

    Good day to you madam.

"Get out of here, Stalker." Is a quote from the first guy you meet, don't get mad, anyone, please!

It's a guy in the duty base, who in the default stalker game repeats his "GET OUT OF HERE, STALKER" line over and over, like the "You cant go there" and the "I said come in, dont stand there!" guys.

    Its great.

No hard feelings, Brian, i felt the same about stalker when i played it first.

Quite a few reviews. Not only does the game have a poor and monotonous story line compared to the others, it isn't critical to the series, so it's best skipped, if limited/boring factional skirmishes isn't your thing. On top of all this it installs an intrusive DRM system.

Of course, this is all from second-hand research I did, as I've not played the game, but from what I've seen and heard of it, it seems accurate enough and compelling to stay "clear" of Clear Sky.

All I needed to see thanks....

On topic: Yeah get it, it is fun, like I said system killer though. With the latest patch it runs great. I am currently playing it right now for the 6th or 7th time. Most if not all of the early issues are ironed out. The faction wars can be interesting only problem is Clear Sky like all S.T.A.L.K.E.R. games won't hold your hand. In fact it seems like it will play by itself if you don't want to participate. I watched the renegades in the swamps attempt to take a factory for two in game days. Clear Sky would push them back, take some ground at the abandoned truck only to get pushed back. Every night the Renegades would send wave after wave of attackers to the factory. I would just watch them, and wouldn't participate other than to loot and sell what remained in the aftermath. Anyway, it is a fun game, but like all S.T.A.L.K.E.R. games it is unforgiving, but that is part of the charm. Very few games I have been able to play as many times as I have played all of the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. games.

With Clear Sky I liked it to see Strelok's motivations and the lengths he will go to in order to get what he wants. Really fits with the ending of Call of Pripyat and the whole reason the zone looks like that in Shadow of Chernobyl. Also get to see what turned Monolith from misguided fanatics into an army of crazed lunatics, my favorite faction. XD

In short it isn't the best S.T.A.L.K.E.R. game, but it is certainly better than most of the drivel we PC gamers get.
