guys I need some help, I'm looking at both these laptops and not sure what to get. my budget is around 1500 maybe little more depending on what I'm getting. I love the fact that the np8278s comes with the gtx 870m and the subwoofer with over all better sound quality and of course the awesome 17 inch screen. With the NP7358 the configuration I had was for around 1480 and I get the gtx 860m with a 500gb msata Samsung evo, a 1tb 7200rpm drive with the 15.6 inch screen. BUT the 8278s comes with the DUAL fans which I think is a HUGE plus for a gaming laptop. I've seen alot of people are saying stay away from the gtx 870m due to heat. with dual fans it shouldn't be a problem. Only thing is with the 8278 I'd just be getting a 120 evo and a 1tb drive. lemme know what you guys think. it's almost close to buy time and I'm stumped.

also I bought a 4gb stick of crucial ballistix 99924 1600 memory, do you think adding that to the memory that comes with it is fine? it comes with a 8gb stick of 1600 think I read somewhere it's cls9 Samsung memory

I was planning on buying another 8gigs of it (2x4) for the 7358 but I'm not sure what I'm going to do now.

Neither, you wait until GTX 900M series is out before making your move. That is what I would do

I would get the 8278-S... Its upgradeable unlike the 7358 so down the road, you can put in a new GPU...

anyone happen to know the class of the memory they provide? think I read somewhere it's cls9 Samsung but not sure. I went ahead and bought 2 sticks of crucial ballistix 99924 1600 memory. I'm going to ask xotic pc to put the other 2 sticks under the keyboard so I don't have to mess with it

Stock machine with two sticks of RAM come under the keyboard, no need to request it. Also, it varies what RAM it comes with, and frankly, doesn't really matter all that much. Only time it will matter is if you want much faster or tighter CAS timings, but in that case will have to replace all RAM anyhow. Plus, please learn to use the edit button, posting multiple times in a row especially in quick succession is considered bad etiquette and quite frankly, against forum rules.

Nope, no time limit on posts, unless of course it's an anti-ToS ticking time bomb that'll eventually be nuked by the moderators. But spamming posts is considered poor Netiquette. ;)
