Was just looking on SK Gaming's player list, it says they use Toshiba Qosmio X500. Do you guys really think they use that laptop? Or do they just list it on their site for sponsorship?

They use the Qosmio [I believe they use the x775 now as many European commercials had them playing on that]. For some reason, the Toshiba Qosmio is more known of in Europe than the States/Canada.

They'll probably move onto the Qosmio x870 soon [GTX 670m]. However, the sponsorship is old news.

So they actually use mid-tier gaming laptops instead of top tier Clevo/Alienware/MSI gaming laptops?

Isn't that bit odd? Isn't LCD panel important, so having the available upgrades on LCD be important?

And I don't mean sitting in for an ad to promote it, do they really use these? Just seems weird that a worldclass, pro gamer would use mid-level hardware.

If I remember correctly, the entire SK gaming clan has Qosmios [starcraft, warcraft, quake, etc..]

Do they actually use it in tournys; I have no idea. I would speculate that most gaming tournys would have pre-setup desktops to ensure conformity.

I would argue the Qosmio/MSI/ASUS are mainstream gaming laptops [not mid tier], and SAGER Alienware are enthusiast.

It's just marketing. In tournaments they are of course playing on desktop's and much bigger screens. :D
Only in some special exhibition-matches like for example the na'vi vs teg match they were playing on the Samsung Series 7 Gamer Laptops.

That was so funny - especially with their accents and bad acting.

    What is SK gaming exactly?
