    What will be the difference between the two(Desktop 8600 GTS or 8600M GT)

    Another question; Desktop gaming or Laptop gaming?

    the 8600GTS is clocked a lot higher so it will win by a good amount.

    desktop gaming has a better cost/performance ratio
    laptop gaming is worse but gives you the option of mobility.

    take your pick.

    3D mark 06 is irrelevant with the 8 series cards because they are new compared to the outdated 3dmark, you need to google for the actual benchmarks to real games to get a true comparison. but yes i would expect the desktop versions to be better

    saying that it probably is useless to buy the SLI 8600GTS cuz the new 8800GT out soon will cost only ~$250 and will be faster than the 8800GTS 320MB and that is faster than the 8600GTS by quite a bit.
