    Hi,

Looking at Dell XPS M1730 with SLI 8700mGT, t7700, 2gb ram, 7200rpm hd, Vista. Will this be able to play Oblivion smoothly at 1920x1200 native wuxga screen? i could care less about frames or performance-just good setting at 1920 (a geeks obsession for first time notebook!)

Also, how will Crysis play at 1280, Fear 1920, Age of Emps III 1920, UT3 1920? Will Physx proecessor help at all?

    Thanks for help :)

please dont do that! if you are going to get the m 1730, wait till the 8800m GTX's come out, in about a month....how long do you have to wait?

it could play crysis very well at that resolution. for fear and ut 3 u may have to turn it down a little but AOE sould run great. there is no need for the physics card as it makes no difference in preformance

Who is going to trust some company who can't spell physics correctly ;) Physx pshh...
Now back to the main point, that accelerator won't do a lot, the main concern is the graphics card, the wookie chewiee guy is right, wait till the new graphics card comes out on it!

I agree with narsnail. If you are going to make a hefty investment, I would wait for the 8800GTX.

PhysX is the name Aigaia gave to their physics accelarator. The DX10 cards have one integrated so it's a total waste of money anyway.

Just grab a Sager np5962, it's the same notebook as the 1730, but cheaper and already has the 8800 option
