Just a question : in your opinion, could it be possible to change dual 7950 GTX (from Alienware M9750) for dual 9800M GTS, and to use it with each Vbios (Parent and Daughter for SLI) from laptop using those GTS in SLI, like the Toshiba Qosmio X300 -14L for exemple ?![]()
I'm trying now to buy one 9800M GTS and get out my "old" 7950 GTX SLI !![]()

These cards, if they are even upgradeable (and most are not) will use a proprietary interface. I hate to say it, but you are barking up the wrong tree.

Not going to happen.... sorry.
the M9750 (re-branded Arima W830) has two 'Special' MXM III slots... one is primary, the other is secondary.
The only videocards that you can install in there successfully are up to 7950 Go GTX (Arima MXM modules) in SLI.
.... and recently shown that you can install a single (not dual) ATI HD 3870 (the modules found in the current M17, re-branded Arima W840).
Thats it. -
yup when 4870's come out you will be able to use 3870's which are pretty much as good as 9800 gts

Well, right now, I don't know of any MXM-III 9800M GTS with SLi connectors that are available right now. An MXM-IV 9800M GTS can fit (in the primary slot) because the HE tab doesn't need to be connected for power to be delivered to the card. Getting it to boot up however is an uncertainty, but it doesn't hurt to try.
As for the 3870 in a M9750, you can now use dual 3870s in the M9750 as already shown. The scaling is not that great, probably due to the CPU bottleneck when the experiment was done, but it's a good way to extend the life of your M9750. Apparently Alienware still thinks it has life anyways seeing as they're still selling it direct! -
