I know. 8800M GTX SLI is more than enough for me now :)

That's good to hear. I think that getting the 9800M GTX SLI (when it comes out) over the 9800M GT would be ~$800 +/- thrown out the window when it could be saved up for a faster GPU in one year that is even better than the 9800M GTX. I am just hoping that the D901C will go beyond the 9800M GTX. It seems that all games, except Crysis, play well. I'm not even interested much in Crysis. I want RTS, TBS, and RPG games (StarCraft II, Civ4, Diablo III, Galactic Civ II, Fallout 3, etc.).

I also want to play MANY older games that I have missed out on, like Warhammer 40k, and more!

Magnus, I don`t get what you`re doing to the game, but even with your config, Crysis doesn`t look as good on mine as it does on yours :(

Great thread! I own an alienware m9750 myself and would like to know which drivers you used for you 7950GTX to get such good SLI results?
Oh, and you should probably test Crysis and Mass Effect.
    Deserves a sticky :)

Yeah 7950 GTX SLI is indeed very powerful. Brainer how long have you had you rig? It´s nice to see it plays game even maxed out today, this is what puts my confidence in SLI is the right way to go.

Yeah I am always interested in SLI :) I think I will go SLI with my desktop rig too soon, will get me another 8800GTX should last me for a while since my max res is 1440x900 on my desktop and my 8800GTX maxes out every single game out there at that res :)

wow, so SLI is good for gaming now.... back in the old days people dont even recommend SLI but with the recent driver i guess, it is a huge leap. Cool!!

sadly i only got a single GPU :(

probably going SLI with the 260GTX hell yeah!!!

Good info!!! I really want to see how Far Cry 2 played in SLI...

i'm waiting for both FC2 and call of duty WaW to get more stable, probable in a couple of days or so. Maybe Left 4 dead tomorrow, since its more CPU Bound, since people are starting to think i'm lying with my benchmarks xD

And yeah, SLI in the past Reduced the performance :D

+1, finally proof that SLI is definitely worth it. I'd heard from a few places that running dual cards in SLI wasn't much of an improvement over 1 card.

Yeah, about 1 year ago SLI was not good enough. I guess the drivers were all the issue there.

I don't know whether it has been questioned yet, but how did the FPS in Dead Space double exactly?

Some games like Bioshock, you need to have vsync turned on if using SLi. All the screen tearing comes from the massive fps (not pleasant to the eyes). It looks smoother and you'll avg 60fps (which is beyond playable fps).

The same day sli and PCIexpress came out, i bought an Asus mobo and 2 6800gt (cost me a fortune now that i think of it.)

the fps increase was so irrelevant, and so many games bugged, that i just disabled one of them 2 weeks later. and never ever used it again.

I didnt realise how much progress was made. gg
