lord--care to share why they are lousy? or maybe post some scores of your own?

londez- even with a 300mm crossflow fan blowing straight across the mobo, each card hits around 65*c+

6605 does seem a bit low seeing that a single 7800GTX can score around 4500.

My PC company is currently working on a secret component that can get 25,000 in 3DMark05 and 15,000 in 3DMark06. It's gonna cost $500 approximately, but we're anticipating problems with markets, considering that the component does NOTHING besides getting those high 3DMark scores. It can't even drive a VGA signal.

I think the point of the benchmark tests is to see whether your system will perform better than other systems. So if that "secret component" does nothing other than display high benchmark scores (games still run crap and it's still as slow as before), it's pretty useless.

    No, you don't understand.

It's not that games run crap.

    They don't run at all.

The component can only achieve high 3DMark scores. It cannot actually play games (or even display the desktop).

Ok to clear this up, SLI does not mean that the two graphics cards double performance, it is much less. Because the two cards work together, I believe the boost is around 40-60%. Right now I feel, (especially in laptops) that SLI is not cost effective, but in the future possibly.

androo--correct, SLI doesnt double performance. AND another thing that many people do not know..SLI is only beneficial at resolutions of 1680x1050 and above. so anything less, you will not notice any difference, except more FPS..althought that is good, but when you run 1024x768 at 200fps everything maxed, and i am running the same game at 1680x1050 at 100fps everything maxed, which would you choose?
