    Hi guys,

recently i ve been having some weird problems with steam.

firstly, whenever i click on a game it says 'Game unavailable' ..i mean what? .its my game ..how can u tell its not available... DRM pain i guess.

okay..so i restart steam and now steam app wont even start.

    i restarted comp...ran defrags..and restarted again.

even now when i click on Steam ...it says

'Connecting Steam Account: ***********" ...but it never even connects ...even if i leave comp for all nite.

So for past few days no gaming for me even though i purchased the game and i own it and its on my HDD.

    What to do?

If i uninstall it and re-install it.... wouldnt it delete all the Gigabytes of Game Data?

Have you added an anti-virus/internet security program or changed the Windows firewall settings recently?

This is a very common problem for users who have some firewall in place which would be preventing Steam from connecting to its servers.

I've had this issue one time before and it was indeed my AV program that was blocking Steam.

Did you check the Windows security settings as well? Maybe something was changed during a recent update.

okay i found a solution which i had tried before due to 'Validation errors'

    heres what u do:

    and Voila! steam started!

seems like some files get corrupted often.

anyway..this method fixes most steam problems without needing to re-install.
