Has anyone tried Sacred 2 yet? Looks like a good game, reviews I've read mostly say that it's not worth playing.
Anyone here in NBR tried it yet?
-
I want to know as well. I've played the demo, and want to know if the actual game is like it or not.
-
I am playing it now. Overall it's another decent hack and slash game with lots of character config options. There are glitches with it.
Pros:
-FRICKIN HUGE WORLD with lots of sidequests
-Multiple character config options
-Decent main story line
-LOTS of loot (money is no issue)
-Weapons/Armor upgradeable by forging unique items (some not so unique)
-Mounts - vary by character type...horses, tigers, oh my
-Better than average graphics (IMO)
-Not terribly demanding graphics- (HP HDX 8800 GTS- no problem maxxed)
Cons:
-FRICKIN HUGE WORLD with not many portals to go back if desired (fix on the way I hear)
-Game manual not very good, some of game's features not well described (forging and combat art combos for example)
-Sidequest NPC glitches- sometimes can't drop follower NPC on uncompleted quest chain
-A few graphical glitches- world map doesn't display correctly after extended game time.
Just a few tidbits from my experience so far. I recommend the game, but might want to wait a few weeks for 1st patch to come out. I give it a 7/10 right now. -
Isn't that the game with the Blind Guardian concert?
-
Thanks for the reply hovercraftdriver.
Does this game support multiplayer via LAN? Sure hope it does. Hack and slash is always more fun with a buddy. And the graphics are real nice too -
Yes it does, haven't tried it yet though. Very convenient looking interface though.
@Lysander Don't know about the blind guardian. -
Good to know it has multiplayer as well
Anyone else has tried this game yet? -

i loved sacred the first. i tried the demo of sacred 2 and was a little disappointed but maybe it was my weak geforce 7600 GT that bias me. one comment i will make though is TACKY COSTUME DESIGNS! it is like a mix of lord of the rings and strippers.
-
Played it for many hours, co-op over LAN. Had a great time, especially with the humor when enemies die (if you've played the first sacred you know what I'm talking about). Graphics are excellent and the design of the creatures and costumes is pretty good as well, although that is a matter of taste. Biggest plusses are how customizable and different each race is, co-op, the size of the world and the interface/controls. A big negative is how uninteresting missions are, although there are many of them so there is always something to do. If you like this type of game, Sacred 2 is a worthy addition to your collection and well worth the money.

Has anyone had any success with properly functioning SLI in the game? If so which driver did you use?

I downloaded and tried the demo, and experienced some problems with the game suddenly shutting off AlienFX ( the lighting program for the m15x ) upon startup
What's more, after I select the character, the lights go back on but they keep changing colors uncontrollably
I like the game, but am wondering if the full version would do this to my laptop as well. -

Sure hope it does Cinner.
Been browsing around the web and found this article:
http://fidgit.com/archives/2008/11/sacred-2-fixes-on-the-way.php
In the comments section, there's mention of them testing the game on m15x's. No one mentioned anything about the lights going crazy so I think it's gonna be ok
Will be getting the game next week then. -
Would just like to mention that I played the game last night using the new GTA4 optimized 180.84 driver and the game detail and smoothness is much better for me. Hard to explain in quantitative terms, but a noticeable difference. 8800m GTS using Dox 180.70 before this.
-
Did you get the CE with the extra textures disk hovercraftdriver?
Might give 180.84 a try when I get my copy of the gameThanks for the tip

Got my copy today, and sad to say the problem with AlienFX did reoccur. I'm now trying to update my copy of the game. Will let you guys know if that fixes the problem

Anyone playing this game with a ATI 3650? I'd like to play it once my Studio 17 comes in (tomorrow). I love hack 'n slash games like D2, Titan Quest, etc.

The update is taking quite a while to download.
The game itself is so far unplayable, it crashes every once in a while. Definitely very annoying. I hope the patch does help with regards to this
