I tried to hook up an external 22 inch viewsonic vx2255wm monitor to my np2090 running nvidia 8600m gt and when i do i dont get a picture on the external monitor at all. it detects it in my nvidia control panel but nothing seems to work. i played around with a couple different drivers but they all dont give me a picture. I installed the monitors driver and it shows up as viewsonic vx2255wm on device manager. i troubleshooted by trying to hook up an older NEC lcd monitor and that doesnt work either. i know these nothing wrong with the monitors because they work prefectly fine for my desktop. any ideas?

when i use two monitors, i have had no problem. driver 169.04. so it is possible to make it work with the 2090.

    remember to try-
right click on desktop/nvidia control panel/set up multiple displays/

you should find some options there. click one (such as extend desktop, configure separately or whatever), and
make sure you hit APPLY before closing the window.

ignore if you have already tried this.
