So, I have the np9261 motherboard or whatever, as the post title suggests. I know I cannot use the GeForce 8800 cards unless I upgrade my motherboard (UGH).

    So my question is this:

What video card(s) would be considered an upgrade from 2 SLI-linked GeForce 8700m GTs?

Any info would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

Also, does anyone know where I can buy the newer motherboard online? I think I can put it in myself, but who knows...

Anyway, ya, does anyone know where I can buy (online) the motherboard that the Sager NP9262 uses?

    Thanks again for any help.

you can order your motherboards through most Clevo vendors.

depending on where you live, I would start with these guys (North America):

Yea, i have a 9260... issue is... i've tried soooo hard to open this thing up THAT much. I've replaced the whole LCD unit and connecting cables.. all the removeable parts i've messed with (CPU, GPU...) but the mobo is like... STUCK IN THIS CHASSIS... cause i'm all about doing things myself. If there was a mobo replacement guide.. that would be AWESOME!

Of course, I download that YEARS ago lol.. I've practically stripped this baby to barebone just for fun (don't ask, i like breaking things and fixing them) The part of the chassis around the mobo is like, GLUED together... that or i most likely cant find the rite screws... its nuts! (and bolts.... :D)

    Daaaaaamn....

hmmm... so what video card(s) would be considered an upgrade from the 8700m GTs? (ones that my mobo can use, obviously, lol)

    Thanks again!

you can stick a single 8800M GTX / 9800M GT / maybe even 9800M GTX in there.

dual 8700M (in SLI) will run near the same as a single 8800M GTX.

but your current setup is still quite high-end since it should be able to do 10k in 3DMark06. :)

Sounds like with everything you'd need to replace you could get yourself a decent m980nu for the same price ~$500 extra.

I thought my current motherboard couldn't support the new 8800s?
