I have posted below, a few things I have found wrong with the game.

First off, even though I can use my 360 controller to play it, the controls are terrible.
The camera angle is terrible.
There is no auto-aim like GTA 4.
The driving is absolutely horrid!
The graphics are sub-par.
The controls are very awkward, and sometimes they don't work the right way.

If you are thinking about getting it, pay the extra $10 and buy GTA IV. It has it's known bug's, but it is worth it.

 

that disapointing, Im just hoping others will contradict you because Ive been waiting for this game for a while and this is why I like to wait for reviews and opinions before buying a game...

I wouldn't base my decision on the 360 version anyway. I`m debating whether to get it for PC now or later...

 

This is the PC version I am talking about. Never played the 360 version.

 

I played the PC version and I agree, this has to be the worst console port of the year. The controls are simply awfull and they make driving around very tedious. It's just no fun to play a game which controls like this. On top of that the performance is much worse than GTA4, which at the same time looks much, much better visually.

Too bad because it could have been a very fun game. The character editor is very impressive (think Oblivion but way more advanced).

 

Pity. I was kinda looking forward to it mainly due to the customization of your character. I absolutely hate having to play as a guy in the GTA series. It's not so bad in FPS games like COD because at least you don't see yourself walking around.

 

Oh ya, the car customization is awesome, and so is the character one (I love putting tattoos on my character to more resemble me), but I think the WORST thing is the driving. You even think about pushing A or D and your car is skyrocketing across the opposite lane.

 

Exactly. I don't understand why they didn't make it a little more subtle. I think they were going for an arcade type of game, which I don't really like.

 

My brother has been playing this non stop for a while now. Just looks like it was a horrible port.

Seriously they need to design more games with both playable sexes. I have tons of other female friends who won't play games just because they only have a male character.

 

You turn with A and D, and just a splash of Hope.

Well they do have Female characters, but from what I have seen, anything you buy/wear makes you look like you are asking for it in the back seat of a Camaro.

 

What did you expect from a ghettofied game. God just looking at the ad on tv made me think of that stupid movie with Steven Segul and DMX LOL.

 

Haa, yea I know there are female characters in Saints Row 2. I was referring to GTA 4 in particular.

 

You're complaining about auto-aim on a PC shooter?

 

Auto-Aim for a game similar to GTA IV. I was merely comparing the two together. Auto-Aim is just one of the thing's wrong with this game (at-least in a game like this, auto-aim is nice to have IMO).

It's not like I am complaining that SR2 doesn't have auto-aim because I can't point and click with my mouse.

 

Taken from a reviewer from GamingHaven. Looks like "Worst port of the year" already had its owner.

 

The graphics is like some sort of xray and can see through the character. So cannot figure out where I am going and find the way. Anyone facing same problem?

I am using Nvidia official driver 179 and a xps m1730 system with 8800m sli, 2.4 ghz core2duo and 4 gb of ram.

 

But I like this game better than GTA IV

Well, I already have GTA 4 for PC. In terms of plot and gameplay, it's up there with the all time greats for PC. However, game barely hits 30fps unless I overclock my CPU. Although I have a QX9300 on the way to replace my P8600, which may possibly increase performance, I can't help but be interested in Saints Row 2. I hear gameplay and all is very similar to GTA, though the graphics might be a tad below that seen in GTA 4.

So does anyone have the game or have played it? If so, how does it run (if you could please show specs on system you played it on) and how would you compare it to GTA?

 

have you played the first saints row? If you liked it you will probably like the second one.

It's like gta4 without a good storyline...

It's so average, it's worth missing, but probably worth checkout out as well (for some)...

 

Saints Row 2 is a TERRIBLE port some say its worse then GTA4 jjust look it up you will see what im talking about.

Saw it for 19.99 for PC? is it worth it? Would my system run it well? From what I read, the port sucks.

 

Yes you can run it and YES the port sucks people who have played it/reviewed it said it was a worse port then GTA4! go for it though if you want it

 

Will it play as bad as GTAIV because if they are about the same, i'd save my money and get GTA

Sigh... I had high expectations for that game...

 

So did I. But we should have seen this coming when only the PC version was delayed last year without a single word from the publisher. Even the developers didn't know what was going on. I wonder what they did during the delay though. Time certainly wasn't spend on improving the port.

 

This game seems like it would be fun, but i think my laptop needs to be from the future (at least 4 years ahead) to get a decent frame rate.

 

There was an update released on Steam last week, the game runs way, way, way better now, and looks alright, the graphics are not the greatest but the game play is amazing. I love the customization of cars, character, homes. There is a lot to do in it. Granted some of the story is absurd, but I believe that is what was intended. Don't know, but I like Saints Row 2 way more than GTA4. Been addicted to it since the update last week. I say it is definitely worth it now.
