    I have an alienware m17xr3, i7 2760qm 2.4-3.5, 8gb RAM, nvidia gtx 580m

keep in mind i have the exact same specs (includes overclocking settings) as the people in the videos and i use the exact same graphical settings in game yet i get worse performance

    For skyrim

alienware laptop M17XR3 580M GTX The Elder Scrolls v Skyrim Full HD Video from toonnut1 - YouTube

skyrim riverhelm mod part 1 on alienware m17x r3 - YouTube

TWO videos of people with the same spec as me getting fps in the 50-60 range maxed out AA's set to 8 and 16 and yet i get 11 fps with those same settings

even on notebookcheck my card (580m) says i should be getting at least 33 fps ultra 16AF and 8xAA

Computer Games on Laptop Graphic Cards - NotebookCheck.net Tech

    For Crysis

Crysis Benchmark - Nvidia GTX 580m (OC - Maxed Out) - YouTube

When i use these settings i get frames in the 20s and lower and this dude is RECORDING as well with fps in the 40s

I am positive i am using my 580m to run these games...yes my laptop is plugged in..yes i am using high performance battery ...yes my nvidia drivers are up to date...and no rolling them back does not work, tried it

it COULD be the throttling issue but why arent these dudes having any problems? this is really puzzling me and making me angry

Sounds like perhaps your system is using the integrated graphics instead of your 580m.

Is there a way you can rightclick on the application to force it to use your discrete graphics?

i am forcing it...my integrated graphics wouldnt be able to play crysis on high at 30 fps anyway so when i run ultra its still gonna use the 580m...so im sure im using my 580m for both games...i just cant max things out and record like these dudes can...which is crazy because WE HAVE THE SAME LAPTOP lol

ive set all my games in the nvida control panel to use the 580m high performance processor
