Ok guys, I know you're getting sick of me asking these questions lol. Tomorrow I'm ordering DirecWay I'm getting the 1.0Mbps and the 128 upload. With a FAP of 175 MB.
I've heard that Satellite can play MMORPG's at a decent rate. My question is this, is there ANY MMORPG I can play using Satelite, I've been playing WoW, but I can't continue seeing as the update files get REALLY close to my FAP limit. I've been thinking about Asheron's Call or Dark Age of Camelot or Everquest or Ultima Online or I really need to learn the rules about RUN-ON sentences.
Do you think Satellite will handle online rpg's a little better than Dial Up? Considering I'm only getting a connection of 29.2 on average... though right now I have 32.0.
Thanks in advance,
BTW I ordered Sacred today.
OOOO, the internet connection isn't my only problem, keep in mind I'm running an ATI X200M 128... so Guild Wars is out of the picture. No use of playing if the internet connection is playable but the system produces lag lol.

Guild wars shouldnt be out of the picture... by far... granted no eyecandy but it should run just fine, its definately superior to a 8500... and has full feature support to the level of a 9000 atleast, yes including T&L, congrats, you got an ati igp, it ISNT a total pos.
If more up to date drivers are needed, you can use the modded driver sets known as the omega drivers www.omegadrivers.net they work wonders though a release every now and then has an issue with a spesific moble(or... in one case desktop top of the line...) just play with a few and find one that fits your system right.
Now... the question is whats your other system stats then?
Anyway being that i dont own guild wars this is just off light research...
Dont go ff11... horrificaly long and large downloads. I got it right that such would be problematic right?
Ultima is pretty much going on the downside of a parabolic, and its pretty far down there... real pity but *shrugs*
Youve already dsicovered WoW
Coh/v has simular size updates...
I suppose you could try anarchy online, its even free for the basic game... though the basic game gives little service to the real game from the screenies and such ive seen, though im not big on paying for such things recently so havent tried.
I guess satelites preformance compared to dileup would depend on your dileup, updates will be faster, gameplay all depends, i had incredibly stable "56k" dileup, that ran 31.2kbps constantly, i got 50-70ms pings on cs with that and nearly no lag on ultima(disregarding brit bank... which is more server side) but also have experianced bad dileup with pings... that are just obcene.
anyway i hope my little bit o knolage helps ya -
The real problem with satelite connections is the ping, which is substantially longer by default than any dialup.
Think 500+ at least. -
A few weeks ago a I purchased Guild Wars and was able to play with dial up, connected at 26,400. Last, week I switched to a satellite ISP and to my dismay discovered that because of the latency (500++) I am unable to connect to the Guild Wars Server. I searched the web and found a discount dialup service and for now am now paying two ISP's.

that alone will get you banned from servers. WOW I didnt think it would be that bad.
