Hey everyone, I'm new to the forums, and have done some searching regarding a problem I'm having with my new notebook and can't find anyone having a similar problem.

I have the asus F3T as the topic says,
    for more specs:

The problem I'm having is that colors that are supposed to be black are turning green on my screen. At first I automatically thought that this was a graphics card problem, but then realized that if I move my notebook screen down, the "greenness" gets much less severe, and sometimes, randomly, none of it will show up. It almost I touch or move the computer in a certain way, it can also effect the greenness. If I have no green, it doesn't matter if I play Oblivion, none will show up, but sometimes I will turn on my computer after a nights rest and then it will just be there. If I leave my computer in a resting state when I can finally get it to not have green, it usually works fine for a while.

The only thing I can think of, is that before I came to college, the laptop dropped from about one foot (inside the laptop case) from my bed to a pile of clothes.

I'm going to try and attach a screen shot from WoW. Hopefully, the screen shot has the green where the black colors should be and It's not just me seeing it.

If you damaged your graphics card, you'd be SOL. But since the problem changes dependent on the screen position, etc. it's not the graphics.
Did you have this problem before dropping the laptop?
I don't play WoW so I can't help you with the screen shot to say whether it's just you or not.
Also, I'm not going to lie, I really have no clue about how LCDs work but bear with my analysis with a little wiki research. When your laptop fell, the connector inside the LCD became loose, causing an improper/no voltage to be applied (unless you have the screen in the exact right position) and thus telling the LCD to give out more green unless the screen is in that exact position.

That seems like a possible problem, but do I have to take it into a specialist to get something like that fixed? Also, if the screenshot was showing what I actually see, it would be very apparent what I am talking about, if I had WoW up or was just on my desktop. I'm thinking the only way to see the problem from my view is if I took a picture of it.

Unless your laptop is off warranty, I would bring it to the place you bought it and have them send it in. If it is off warranty, you could download a manual from the manufacturer's website and dig into taking it apart and trying to fix it yourself.

    UPDATE:

I plugged in my laptop to another monitor, and while the crappy green was all over the darker colors on my notebook's screen, the monitor displayed all the colors correctly. I don't know whether I should be happy or unhappy about this because I guess it means that it is not a graphics card problem.

The thing about sending it in is I don't have time to not have a computer at school (I have to send it to Japan or something for asus to fix it.) And also, I don't really trust warranties, especially after working for several companies that basically use warranties to rip off customers.
