I just got a Dell Vostro 3700 which has an Nvidia GT 330M.

On certain games like L4D2, Crysis and Morrowind but NOT Minecraft (they are all the games I've tried) after a few seconds horizontal tearing, flashing and random artifacts begin to appear on the screen, to the point where it's like watching an old film...The temp does not seen to me too high after checking it after leaving the game, so I can't figure out why it is happening.

I have tried forcing v-sync with triple buffering in the Nvidia control panel and it didn't work, I have tried turning off anti-aliasing and it didn't work. Turning off v-sync increases the problem.

Please help, I have emailed Dell tech support and I am waiting for a reply, I cannot find any help on the internet. Any suggestions are appreciated.7

EDIT: I don't think I'll get a reply from Dell.....It has started happening on HL2 and Minecraft now.

My stepdad's Vostro 3700 only has one graphics card, while mine has TWO graphics cards, a built in Intel Integrated graphics card (without screen tearing issues) and the Nvidia 330M (this is strange because they are meant to be completely identical laptops)

the laptop can be configured without the dedicated nvidia card, so it's not strange.
try updating graphics drivers, use hwmonitor to check the temps, be sure to use your laptop on a hard flat surface.
if the prob still exist, phone dell and demand a replacement/refund.
