In my country, a local newspaper started a contest. The goal was to send to their IT section a script for a videogame. There was no limit, except for some guidelines.
I managed to squeeze 6 scripts of various categories (racing, FPS, adventure, and a combination of genres) for different consoles (PS3, XBox 360, Wii and PC).
I believe that I have a chance, however there are 800 plus scripts competing. That's bad news for me.
The top prize is a full scholarship to study a career to design videogames (the name is "design and creation of virtual worlds and simulators" and actually goes beyond games since kinda everything tech or science related needs simulators). That AND a paid internship at Gameloft. Cool.
But, in case I don't win, I'd still like the chance to see my ideas see the light.
Do you guys can point me in the right direction to sell or produce scripts for a games developer?
edit: And I mean, to do this for a living. I already know how to write, in case it's not clear. What I don't know is how to apply for this kind of positions, or where to start looking :S

Motivation is a good thing to think about. Why is your character doing what he's doing? Why are the antagonists attacking/trying to thwart him? Are they just one dimensional universe-ending sociopathic children of parents unknown, or is there something more that the antagonist wants?
You might also want to look into the hero myth/three act structure and incorperate it into your 'game'. Almost every good story can be applied to the three act structure, so it's a good starting point for any writer.
If you already know what I'm talking about, ignore me, and someone more knowledgeable can assist you.
Oh, I don't know if it would help, but you could try applying the tragic hero formula to your story. That'd be interesting.
Edit: Whoops. Hero myth = hero with a thousand faces. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Hero_With_a_Thousand_Faces
If you run out of ideas for plot development, there's nothing wrong with looking at TV Tropes for inspiration. -
Uhm, I KNOW how to make a script. I write since I was six! What I mean is how can I insert myself in the industry!

The way I see it, there are two ways:
1) Find a programmer friend that can turn your script into a nice low budget indie game, and sell it through some indie friendly online distributor. You might want to check out TIGsource, as the forums there are just teeming with talent.
2) Pitch your script to a big name studio/publisher.
You'll probably have more luck with option one.
Edit: Sorry for giving you 'beginner' advice. -
The problem is the country where I live. Few people have any considerable skill at all in computing. And the ones who do have very high salaries.
My last resort would be to learn flash, but I have Adobe CS3 and I don't get it. So... I'm boned.
Scripts for games-- Like, screenplay. Not cheats.
