    Hi -

I have been doing as much research as I can to help my husband who needs to buy a replacement for his now defunct Toshiba Laptop. He basically plays Second Life, reads & writes occasional emails and likes surfing the internet. So one "higher" end use and very little else.

I have been reading about overheating issues concerning various graphics cards with laptops (part of the reason I think for the demise of his 4 year old laptop).

He needs a laptop rather than a PC as we live a split life between the two hemispheres.

I have been looking at an Acer Aspire 5750G (comes with nVidia Geforce 610M) and a Samsung 300E Core i5 (with the older nVidia Geforce 520MX)

Not 100% sure whether SL will work with either of these cards?

Any feedback or alternative suggestions greatly appreciated!

You should ask in the what notebook should I buy section and fill the form, you'll get suggestions more suited to your needs/budget.
