Just too "darn" excited over my A8Js(coming in a week); I'm already starting to establish a PC gaming library and make up for lost time. Ignoring how not smart it is to buy games for a laptop you don't have(most of these games will work on my desktop anyway) ...
Thief I + II double-pack ... $10.21
Grim Fandango ... $15.50
Fallout Collection ... $18.98
Black and White 2 ... $19.05
Alpha Centauri . . . $6.87
Planetscape Torment + Soulbringer . . . $21.49
And I'll hopefully get Freespace 2 for $15.70.
Thinking about getting Fear + new expansion pack for $38 at Best Buy.
How's my list look so far?
I know I have to look into getting that Half-life value pack ...
-
oh planescape torment is an excellent choice
and grim fandango. I think you picked up some of the best games already. -
Far Cry is <$10 at WalMart right now. Unfortunately, it's the CD version, but the game is excellent. I think KOToR was <$10 also.
-
I own all those games... except for Black and White 2 and
Alpha Centauri. They are excellent! -
Black and white 2 came out last year. Still in stores. How can you even call it retro?
-
Lol you want retro? I'm considering and still am buying the Forgotten Realms Archive I think it's like the silver or Gold edition but it has like 14 of the early ADnD games
games like
Pool of Radiance and Eye of the Beholder. Now that's OLD SCHOOL!
-
Semi-retro, darnit! SEMI!
-
I think it will take you some time to play through all those games
.
I agree Far Cry should be quite cheap right now and is definitely worth playing through. -
I just bought Half Life 2 Episode 1, should I consider it retro?
Retro is 20 years old. Semi retro is 5-7 years old. No way in heck black and white is is semi retro -
Quit whining, Zellio. 9 of 12 games I listed qualify for your definition of semi-retro.
Next time I'll name the topic, "Semi-retro game-purchases + Black and White 2 with two uncertain comments about Half-life and Fear," k? -
Ditch B&W2. It's not retro, and it's not particularly good.
Other than that, I'd suggest Beyond Good & Evil. It's from 2003 or something, so only slightly retro, but still a **** good game, that unfortunately didn't get the attention it deserved.
Deus Ex might be a good bet too. -
^Retro isn't a necessity for my purchases ...
"Relatively cheap + quality," on the other hand ... -
Beyond Good and Evil ... 5.83
Deus Ex ... 5.98 -
Alpha Centauri, perfect choice! I like it better than the civ games really. but it needs an update.
You could also check out sim city games. I would check out Baldurs Gate, the old gold boxed AD&D games, old school doom...
I consider semi retro 10-15 years old, and reto to be 15+ years old. Basically NES and C64 days and earlier are retro, SNES, Genesis and later win 3.11 games to sem-retro to me.
Beyond good & evil was great.
Deus Ex series : amazing
System shock : WOW
Again, not really sem-retro, but *shrug* still great games! -
Best Retro game ever: Baldur's Gate 2 and Throne of Bhaal Expansion, get them both together for 10 bucks at amazon.
-
Stop whining? But I don't wanna!!
Apparantly OP doesn't get it when he's being teased -
Baldur's Gate II + expansion .... 9.98
Of course, to get free shiping I bought an extra $18-worth of books.
I've spent about $140 on games in the last 36 hours.
Need to stop taking recommendations ... -
If you were more witty about it, I wouldn't have minded, Z.
-
Hope you didnt forget Starcraft + Broodwars too
Semi-retro Game Purchases!
