Do want. This is what all PC shooters should aspire to be, not some slow paced COD Garbage.

Anyone any idea on what systems this will run on what settings?

    How about 6970M?
    How about 6990M?

Could anyone that started playing report back. I wanna buy it, but wanna know whether I can actually play it (well) first.

I think you're going to be fine with that 6970m...

I don't understand people that ask these kinds of questions when they've got the best, or second best in this case, gpu on the market. Developers make most games to be run on low-mid range PCs and this one isn't being advertised as a "system breaker".

I'm playing it now. While the game is good, for some reason something to me seems off. I don't know why. What I mean is I think I'm trying too hard to compare it to the orginal first two.

It feels like a Serious Sam game, plays like one, looks like one, but it doesn't have that WOW! factor that I guess I had built up too much for myself. Granted, I'm only on the third level, so things may improve for me as I continue on.

This is just my personal opinion though. :D

I'm sorry I didn't mean to ask this to upset anyone. I was not even aware that the 6970m is the second best on the market (wow really?).

I am not used to having a laptop that is capable of playing games, so I guess it's more a force of habit.

Also, in all fairness, it's a new game and games such as Skyrim, Batman or BF3 to push the limits of the 6970M on max settings. I am quite sure I can run SS3BFE, my question was merely how well, i.e. settings, etc.

Well, guess I'm gonna download now :)

Oh, I just assume a majority of the people on here understand their hardware, especially the ones with high end hardware. I wasn't really upset, it's just that I keep seeing threads like "Can I run Skyrim with my 6990m's in CF?!" Skryim isn't even that graphically beautiful/power intensive.

Anyways, back on topic. SS3 should run at least on High on your system. The difference between the min and recommended requires is quite extreme though. I think the min GPU is a 7800GTX, which is really old/weak, while the recommended is a 580GTX. The 6970m is much closer to the 580GTX (still a bit off, but it should still fair well) than the 7800GTX.

I think the real question is, even if you couldn't run it on max settings, why would that stop you from downloading it? :p

it wouldn't stop me, it would delay my decision for 1-2 hrs ;-)

and yeah, i do know my hardware, i just really wasn't aware the 6970 is the second best on market  (never thought about it i guess... I shall google now and prove the opposite :D... gotta do sth while downloading )

Why do the graphics in the trailer look, uh, shimmery and overall not so good. The animations are really kind of lame...
Maybe I have high expectations, haven't been checking stuff in a few years, guess animation quality doesn't change much?

Still a huge step up from the first 2. For serious sam it's all about gameplay, which is killing things.

I honestly feel that this game looks how Duke Nukem Forever should have been.

Serious Sam is the new Duke Nukem. Jerry Springer's mouth, Chris Redfield's biceps, and gameplay straight out of the year 1995.

I'm gonna be hitting it with a friend today. Woohooooo.

100% cache correct.... now the next tricky thing...
it forces me to upgrade my graphic drivers...
this means probably skyrim wont run smoothly anymore as there are some complications.... to be reported...

alright, successfully stayed up too late for a good morning tomorrow ;)

Serious Sam 3 BFE works super smooth with 6970M via Autodetect, in 1920*1080.

Just discovered there is a build in FPS measure which I have not used yet...

Game is absolutely awesome and truly is what Duke should have been. Great gameplay!!!

It looks way too similar to Serious Sam HD that I already have and I found that game to just get boring way too fast with the same ol over and over and over.

This game seems to only bring a few new enemies and weapons and enhance the graphics a bit.

If you like because its a no hold barred fast action old school shooter. Then take a look at Hard Reset instead. Graphics are much better, cooler weapons, cool atmosphere, and its a indie title so it cost a lot less.

The only trade off you will be making is no lame one liners, and no multiplayer.

    Have you played BFE? :)

Graphics sure is not what others do, but good to go. I will definetly check out hard reset though.

I will let you know whether BFE gets boring, so far, not one bit :D

The lame one-liners are half of the charm of the game. As is the multiplayer. And that the whole thing is totally solid, and definitely designed for the PC. The controls work exactly as you'd expect them to. Heck, it even works out of the box on my Eyefinity setup, even has a "screen size" option where you can change the size of the HUD screen for it. It understands a 16:3 aspect.

BTW, Serious Sam is also Indie. They're their own publisher. Just because they've got name recognition doesn't mean they're on with one of the major studios. And only $40 when most AAA titles of this size and scope are $60, it's a good deal IMO.

The only screenie I took last night, because I was having too much fun otherwise: http://cloud.steampowered.com/ugc/614969358011687784/853213C5D13B06AEF786BECEFE24D71FAF240922/

Yes, it is similar to the older games. But that's why it's awesome, too. If you didn't like the old Serious Sam games, then you won't like this one. If you did, then you'll love this one.

I have 18 6970m with dry ice cooling can I run dungeon defenders with decent fps?

I loved the original Serious Sam, played with a friend. Play till you die, get up and then he plays and see who gets the better score. Not sure if I'd still enjoy it though
