I never played the original games but saw some people post up eyefinity/TH screen shots on another forum and heard about the massive co-op mode (I think up to 16 people vs hordes of enemies) so had to see what it was like.

I gotta say I really like this game. It feels like the good ol' days and that to me is a nicer and better feeling than even the newest/best shooter can give me. It runs like a dream while actually looking really good.

If I had to say what it was like, it reminds me of the gameplay of the old doom games with the style and humor of duke nukem.

Lots of people liked Killing Floor for the co-op survival mode, I did not, but I find this to be the alternative and way better than Killing Floor.

You guys should check it out. I do believe there is a demo on the way so be sure to check it out!

I went online and played for about 30 minutes. and WOW online is way fun. I took a few videos. I am splicing together and encoding a short video now. Will be up for youtube viewing in probably 25 minutes.

Youtube is going to take its sweet time processing that video, and even longer to give the HD version since its an unusual resolution. Recorded 5760x1200 but reduced to 1920x400 for youtube

I've been thinking about getting this since it looks very hectic.. just lots of killing and coop. Plus updated with some achievements etc is always nice.. but I spent $20 on torchlight the other day so this may have to wait haha. MW2 is still my shooter of choice at the moment.

 

I got it too. Just another game to add to my pile of games I haven't found time to play yet, if ever. The game called single parent of two boys is kicking my butt. So far the only achivement I've unlocked is the larger diaper bin.

edit: I decided to fire it up. What is with the envelope icon in the lower right? I dont' see any key to access it? What does it mean?

 

I think thats the new data in your log, between stages you can read data on new enemies and weapons and things of that nature.

And yeah this game is hecktic, thats why I like it. Reminds me of when I was a kid and had a swarm of demons spawn behind me and try to kill me. It gives you a very good sense of urgency and needing to be fully alert.

I prefer the darker atmosphere of doom (doom 64 one of my fav games of all time for fps) but this game still captures the gameplay style really well.

 

Oh, ok, so you can't read it during the game then? Yeah, it's more cartoony panic than dark horror like Doom 3.

 

The old one was great, I will have to buuy this and check it out

Game is super fun online, just gave it a shot. I crashed out after like 4 or 5 maps, so that was my que to get on here and upload the videos and stuff.

 

Lol, glad you bought it. This is a great series and very underrated. Its like Left 4 Dead minus the zombies.

 

I think I'll be playing this over L4D2 and it was cheaper. Way more hecktic and its just straight up action. None of the drama you find in L4D games.

The server I joined must have had some mode or mod on all the monsters were invisible and only appearing to attack for a split second making it even more crazy.

 

That's just the most difficult settings. All the monsters are invisible.

 

Is this game same as the original, just updated graphics, or is it different than the original?
