whats the best looking texture filtering option. Anisotropic, bilinear, or trilinear?

to me it seems like Anisotropic makes the game look like PC games and Bilinear and Trilinear looks more like Xbox 360 games.

which of those are the best?

anisotropic filtering is more advanced than the other filtering methods

it also has the highest computational cost.

i believe the xbox 360 does not use anisotropic filtering, although it can dramatically increase the quality of textures, especially when not looking at a texture head on, so you should definitely use anisotropic filtering on the pc when you are able if it doesn't interfere with performance in an unacceptable way.

Yeah it depends if you want better picture quality or better performance

I think, trilinear filtering is enough. I don't see a huge difference between trilinear an 2x or 4x AF, but the latter costs a lot of Performance. I use 2x AA, more is also wasted performance to me... But if your machine can handle it easily, you can use higher settings. It sure won't make the quality worse.

i set my Nvidia to 16xQ AA overriding the Game settings. but i have no idea what 16xQ is. it seems to look more sharp.

i would be surprised if it ran acceptably at that setting, regardless of the card you are using.
