    Hi all,

Ive just got settlers 7 for my m1730 and the performance is terrible. I was wondering if anyone else was having problems. I dont think SLI is currenting
working only getting about 17fps. I downloaded an sli profile from nhancer forums but it doesnt seem to make any difference.

the 190 series drivers are quite crap.. the 195.62 ones work quite well for me.. try installing those.. if u have no luck , try the 186.81 drivers.. they're garunteed to work but are quite old..

im running settlers on max setting using my NP8662 im averaging fps in the high 20's early 30's so its actually quite a demanding game, my thoughts are this is defiantly more cpu bound that gpu bound im using the P9700 @2.8Ghz and think this is more the reason for my low fps, ive tested little bit and there really isnt any shift in fps if i lower the graphics settings.....my conclusion its cpu bound, what cpu do you have?

    Thanks for the replys guys.

I currently have a T9300 (2.5GHZ) I think you might be right about the cpu bound. I have mine running on recommended settings (most things on medium) @ 1900x1200.
What drivers are you using mtness?
Looks like i might have to try the old drivers to see if they work ok.

    Regards Jim

yep im guessing thats your problem mate, your cpu might be struggling a bit, there's a heck of a lot of stuff going on at any given moment so its not surprising in the slightest.

im currently using the official 197.16 drivers and find it to be a decent driver.

I'm running this game also on my M1730 @ 1920 x 1200 with most things on high. It's indeed not using SLI, just using 1 core. Crappy engine or hardware support for a 2010 game. :(
I also use the official 197.16 WHQL driver. I think it's the best 190 series driver since long time. With the X9000 @ 2.8 it's still running ok. I hardly see a little performace improvement @ 3.4.

I played it also on my desktop, Q9650 @ 3.0, 8GB and HD5870. 1920 x 1080 everything high and offcourse no issues at all. :p

Try the 197.16 driver and turn of SLI in your nVidia control panel.

You can also try this tweak. It seams very easy. When I come home I sure have to try it on my XPS M1730. :)

    Edit:
It doesn't seem to solve the issue. So still no SLI / Crossfire support. Shame. :(

Thanks for all the help guys.

Reference the flickering trees I seem to of solved that problem with the current drivers im using (197.45). Think I will wait till they release a patch rather than rolling back drivers. Im pretty happy with these ones

    Regards Jim
