Has anyone played this game? I was looking for a new game that resembled age of empire 2, and this game appearently has more indepth castle building, town creation, villager simulation and economy/trading then AoE, but im still not completely sold.

If anyone else is familiar with the game please let me know.

I spent prolly 10 hours or so playing this game about two years ago. It does delve into the economy of a village more so than AOE2 but doesn't have the chops to keep you interested very long. The campaign is very repetitive as is the economy once you see all the buildings though to level 3. If you can catch this game at less than $20 (preferably 10 or so) I would say give it a look, otherwise pass it by.

Is this the 3D settlers game that was released not that long ago? Heard this was quite bad, very poor reviews. I think it was Settlers 3 or 4 (the "2D" ones), great game, very different to AOE. Focus is on setting up the infrastructure for a town, rather than combat like in AOE. I really liked it, but if you're not into micro-managing, you might want to steer away.

Yes, it was also listed as Settlers 6 at some point. Combat was pretty much a wash but the management could keep most RTS fans occupied for 5-10 hours.

Yup forgot to mention that, combat basically involved sending a big swarm of your units at an enemy stronghold and trying to take the enemies land. Fairly basic to say the least! But still a great economy game. I might even have to crack out Settlers 4 and have another play...

Pommie, would you say you prefered Settlers 4 or Rise of an Empire (6) in terms of economic depth?
