    Wow just wow.

So I enabled Shadowplay on my laptop, a Lenovo y400, and it blew me away. There was absolutely no fps loss when recording, even on an older game that is not in any way 'optimized' for Shadowplay.

In fact I have some footage so you can see the relatively good YouTube quality: Morrowind - Shadowplay Footage on a GT 650M - YouTube

If you don't know how to do this it's extremely simple:

1.) Create a Geforce Experience shortcut and place it wherever you want.
2.) Right click on the shortcut and click 'Properties'
3.) Underneath the 'Shotcut' tab find the line labeled 'Target'
4.) Insert '-shadowplay -gamestream' after the file path.
5.) Congratulations, your shortcut now goes directly to Nvidia Shadowplay.

The good news is that ShadowPlay will officially support notebooks in the next GeForce Experience update! Then no silly shortcut nonsense will be necessary :)

Only thing i dont like about Shadowplay is that it creates video files using Variable Framerate. :(

    Better late than never :D

    Not for me :(

It seems like it will only support the GTX 660M and above, so my 650M will be left out, SLI or not.

Variable Framerate? So it doesn't record at a stable fps?

And that's why I stopped using it. It makes the output video file stutter and sometimes A/V desync and editing to fix that crap was a PITA.

Oh, I though the video stutter was a bug with Optimus notebooks. So this is an issue on desktops too then?

I don't have Optimus and I get the stutter. People on the GeForce Forums said it also happens on desktops.

I don't want Shadowplay (still can't get it to work with Optimus) for lengthy recordings, just for quick 1-2 minute blurbs, and for that it works great (so far on my desktop at least). Something ridiculous, stupid, or awesome happen? Just hit the record previous button and voila, you've got it. If you want to record lengthy footage, choose something else.

So what exactly is wrong with Shadowplay for recording lengthy footage? Granted I've only recorded footage for a couple of minutes but I didn't notice any stuttering or de-syncing.

That's the point. For 1-2 minutes, you likely won't get that. But for lengthy footage there ends up being frequent stuttering and desyncing.

I've noticed this on some recordings. I didn't attribute it to long videos though.

This was all i could salvage from a 2 hour long recording. Even though it was the first match you can notice that the video stutters a bit. :(

Hmm I'll have to do my own testing. I'll report back later.
