I had this game on Dreamcast and Xbox. Sega is THE premier video game developer. Second to none when it comes to developing games. And in Shenmue, Ryo Hazuki, talk about a moral, classy hero.
In a day and age where being evil is propogated as cool and the way people ought to be, Sega came out with a character that was an honorable role model for young and old videogamers and how to behave as an upright man in society.
Infact as a God fearing man, I try and mimic Ryo in my day to day life. especially when I have difficulties, I think about how Ryo handled his interactions with fellow human beings, employment and keeping his honor as a true warrior.
Now my question is did this game ever come out for pc and where can I get it?

Unfortunately, I don't believe there is. I never played the game, but I watched my brother finish it completely when we were younger. It was amazing, way ahead of it's time.
There is supposedly a Shenmue Online which is a MMORPG set in China, you might try that to see if it can develop as good as Shenmue with live players. Who knows?
Only thing I can think of is creating a dump from the Dreamcast of the Shenmue game and then playing it on a Dreamcast emulator on your PC. Though, it's not very easy to understand how Dreamcast emulators work, such as Chankast. I never figured out how to set it up. -
