I currently have a G1s and I dont plan on OCing it but I do want to get the best performance out of it. So what does this nTune do? Does it optimize my sytem or anything or is it just an OCing tool

No. You can OC and do some other things to windows, add transparency and some neat features.

However I can`t remember how I got to those options

Just be sure not to use the "tune system" feature

It will do you more harm than good.

Shadowfate is right, letting ntune tune your system by itself will mess up bad . At a point I thought my gpu was dead, every game ran at 1-2 fps(usually 40-50 so you can see the difference)

I was blinded when it said that it will make my system faster but the results were so bad that when i started playing games i felt that i was looking at a slideshow.

You could try it if you want, but don't blame me if you will get the worst system performance in your history of tuning.

I say don't install ntune. All it does is add the overclocking and tuning option to the nvidia control panel, and the install for some reason is very large. Just make sure you have the latest drivers for your card and use Rivatuner instead, it is MUCH smaller, does everything nTune does and more, and does it better

Well you can aslo try to overclock your CPU and FSBs

I overclcoked mine thanks to ntune and not rivatuner.

But i use Rivatuner to overclock shader clocks

Oh yeah, with nTune it shows GPU temp, I havnt bothered overclocking yet but when I was playing Halo CE the temp read 78*C, I think thats quite bad but Im not sure how reliable the program is, reasearch on the net says they tend to undergauge the temp by a few degrees so it could've even been somewhere in the mid 80s.
Does anyone know how acurate the gauge is, and if this is bad?

Yeah, but will that actually damage the chip? Because certain hardware can withstand high temperatures, like some CPUs can run at 100*C while others can only run at 65*C
What I want to know is the maximum temp that an nVidia 7150m can stand, does anyone know?

My 7900 "slow protects" at 100C. Search nvidia for TDP on your chip series.

I'll stick with nTune, warts and all. Being made by nvidia I would trust their method for GPU temps, unlike I8kfan where you had to add +8. Or, if you use Rivatuner, compare temps to the nvidia panel to see if it's in the ballpark.

If your GPU is soldered in, be careful, this could mean a motherboard swap if you should kill the GPU.

Well I'm not OCing it, I'm just worried that it runs at 68ish when I'm just on the net and can go into the 80ies when gaming, and the nvidia site has no information on TDP.
