Hey Guys,
Well i recently bought a "dell xps m1530" laptop.
I have the folowing specs:
Intel Core 2 Duo T5250 @ 1.50GHZ
2GB PNY RAM
Nvidia 8400 GS 128ddr3
120GB HDD 5400
I know it's not the top of the line but it runs crysis on low with little or no lag. As for Counter Strike it runs it @ 100.2 FPS All High Settings.
My question for you is, should i upgrade my graphic card to the 8600 GS?
And where could i find the Intel Core 2 Duo T800?
Also, when i try to run battlefield 2, it wont even start up lol, well it will until the black screen then comes back to the desktop loooll
Thanks
KL

You can't upgrade your GPU nor your CPU.

How long ago did you buy your 1530? I would suggest returning it(if its still in the grace period) and reordering a new one with 8600GT.
-
u actually can on a dell but only to the next avalible option
-
CPU: Unless the XPS1530 has a unique motherboard configuration there is no reason why a T7xxx processor can't replace the existing T5250.
GPU: Dell's proprietary graphics card slot allows upgrades from cheaper options to the performance option specified by Dell on their order page. Therefore the 8400GS could theoretically be upgraded to 8600GT GDDR3, the catch being you have to order the graphics card separately from Dell (or look on ebay for the matching part). -
Well actually youre wrong, i can.
CPU is the simplest part to change or upgrade.
The only part im concerned is the graphic card, because i would have to take everything apart. Or pay 119$ for a dell tech. to do it. lol -
You should upgrade only if you feel you need more performance.
Also, if 30 days since the acquisition have not passed, return it an get a better deal. With a better CPU and a better GPU. -

It's expensive. You can go buy from eBay for a fraction of the price if you don't mind used. Refurbished ones sound scary. But I'm afraid your warranty will be void if you try and replace it yourself with a processor that didn't come from Dell. And why upgrade the CPU? You're still stuck with the 8400GS. =/ You won't get much of a performance increase in games.

But, it's not exactly easy to upgrade something that's attached to the mobo.
