Ok I have been watching this game progress over the last few months. I Loved call of duty modern warfare 1. I played it for 2 years. Then Call of duty Waw came out, Got it for 360, played it for some time, didn't enjoy it as much...then the dark times began......my mother raged during a fight and smashed my 360. That was the end of that. After some time I eventually bought a ps3 and a really nice gaming laptop. I don't play my ps3 too much as my laptop can run everything on max at higher resolution. I bought waw for pc. I tried to get into it again but it just didn't happen. Another thing that bothered me quit a bit was how the servers were set up, I didn't like seeing that big list of servers. I guess I preferred matchmaking style opposed to dedicated servers due to me playing so muh cod4 on console and halo 3......at least in those type games, I love cs:s and tf2 pc

So here is the main point, I have 30 bucks, some old ds games, killzone 2 and resident evil 5 ps3 that I haven't played in months. Should I go and buy this game for pc? I am mainly buying it for mp. Will people be playing mp a long time?

Is it more like cod4? or cod waw?

I don't care about the dedicated server thing as much as you would think.

LOL I'M TALKING ABOUT MODERN WARFARE 2!

Do you realize you just wrote that entire post without ever actually referring to the game you're trying to decide about? I mean we all get its MW2 (biggest hint being the dedicated servers bit..) but still..lol.

do you plan to trade in those old PS3 games and get MW2? personally i would get it on the PS3, cuz the price is the same, and the experience is similar, being there are no dedicated server for the PC version and all. so in the end, it depends on if you prefer mouse&keyboard over gamepad for FPS games. and i think you will find enough people to play with until maybe the next MW comes out, since after PS3 slim came out SONY launched a big ad campaign on lots of US TV channels i don't know if you have seen any of them and PS3 sales have been up in north america and europe, so the community should not be a problem. also there are less hackers on consoles.

ps3 graphics are tenfold worse then my computer. I think I will buy it. I haven;t bought a video game it quite some time, l4d2 is to me at least the same as l4d so I'll pass on that.

Ive become increasingly frustrated with online play with this game for example yesterday i hopped on at peak times waited for three mintues for it to search for a suitable game for me, then it loaded, and put me in a game that ad about 1.5 mins remaining, after that finished the host dropped out and there where no suitable hosts found so i was booted to the main screen again....i turned the game off and went back to dragon age origins ;)
the gameplay is fantastic both single player and multiplayer...the question is how patient are you.......

    * well i think i have a good internet connection, ive been playing cod4 and my ping is around 60, the difference between cod4 nd MW2 is i can choose the servers so i can hope on Aussie or NZ servers which gives me better ping, MW2 doesnt allow this so i ave to put up with the game im added to.
    * im in New Zealand
    * yes its the PC version of the game.

Make your pros cons list... Here's mine:

Pro: great SP - lots of emotional ties, cool gameplay, diverse environment; great perks/achievements to motivate me to keep playing MP

Con: expensive game; no dedicated server; have to go through Steam; won't spend any time with me friends and family; costs half as much as a new monitor; and most importantly, most people who buy MW2 are people who have been playing FPS since they were kids, on the other hand, I have only been playing for a few years, so there's no doubt I will be HORRIBLE at it (I was horrible on MW and WaW MP).

We seriously don't need another MW2 thread.

Should you buy it? You liked MW1. MW2 is made by the same people who made MW1. It's getting rave reviews.

Why wouldn't you buy it, based on what you've presented in the OP?

Yes, it's a great game. However, most people will probably tell you no, but their opinions are null and void since they have not even tried the game and are just blindly stating their opinions which lack substance.

Take it from someone who actually owns MW2. It's a great game.
