I've always preferred the playstation to the xbox. I like the games much more for the former.
I still like the Wii more than anything though.
-
I didn't like WII for 2 reasons, no builtin wlan, and ugly graphics.
So I prefer the PS3 power always. -
Please don't comment if your only going by what other people have said. Own the systems before commenting on it.
I happen to own both systems, and I really don't think that either is all that great right now. I own about 30 games for my Xbox360 but only a select few are ever played, and that's probebly Dead rising, and uhh.... Dead rising. All of the other games have horrible replay value, and aren't that graphically great.
I so far happen to like my PS3 more, since just motorstorm, and resistance are played more than any other game that I own for my Xbox360.
Also you have the tendency to keep the PS3 on and never turn it off since I'm constantly using it to watch movies and files that i've put on it.
I also do not believe that you should EVER have to pay to play online in a game when the host is YOU. Which is why I do not pay for XBL, instead I enjoy my FREE, more featured/less pay for, PS3 online experience.
Crap like XBL needs to stop. It's not that great, and it costs $60 usd a year, and upwards of $120 a year, depending on what type you opt to buy. -
This is a real toss up. I have millions of more hours on my ps2 than my Xbox and that why im afraid of getting a 360. The price of a ps3 is ridiculous though, but in the long run if you play online you will pay alot more for 360. The ps3 has free online gaming, but no support features like the 360. ( is what you pay for) its still early for the ps3 though the games are going to get better, im trying to hold off of getting a 360 till SOCOM come out for ps3, then ill never look at another 360 again unless they come out with the best real time shooter imaginable. My friend was paying for Xbox live then he got FFxi for it and had to pay an additional $13 for the FFxi service because Square Enix had its own servers. That was nuts IMO because here i was playing it for free on my ps2 only paying for the FFxi service. The releases of the Halo series is the only times im around a Xbox.
After writing all this i would have to say, when you make the decision to finally get a next gen system think about what genre of games you like, what friends you know with it (cause playing with friends is always fun), and what games are expected from the system in the future.
Xbox is good for their Sci fi shooters/FPS and sports
Sony does MMORPG's/RPG's RT shooter racing and sports fighting
Last thing i'd like to add is that 360 does some cool promotional stuff, like bringing back old games. Me and some buds went to town on the old arcade version of Teenage mutant ninja turtles one night and Mortal Kombat Ultimate too. That almost made me get one right there. Microsoft keeps feeding their players some cool stuff at the cost of you buying more games and completing achievments placed inside every game. -

although wii has built in wifi, it doens't support wpa encryption, like the ds u have to use wep for it to work.
btw i have both the wii and the 360; i have had the 360 for about a month and i LOVE it and play it more often than the wii. Wii sports was fun for a while (2weeks) but everyone in my family got tired of it very soon. I like 360 because its got really awesome co op games like Gears of War and Rainbow Six that i play with my brother. As for PS3 the only reason for me to get ps3 would be final fantasy and it probably won't be coming out until 2008. So i picked the 360. =D. And yes it is very loud to, and please dont call me a moron because i have sensitive (virgin) ears. -

I would go for the wii. I'm a nintendo fan. Yet all innovation yet no graphical substance gets boring. I would have to say between 360, and ps3 i would say get the xbox360 even though i hate Microsoft down to it's very core. 360 has awesome graphics, and when i was playing a racing game i was actually turning the controller as if it were a steering wheel, because the graphics were so good it didn't matter if i couldn't make it go by motion it just looked so real. PS3 is all flash, yet no substance. You pay all that cash for the blu-ray, and that's that. Doesn't matter about micro cell technology, and the graphics are just marginally better than the 360. Xbox 360 for the win/loose.
Mixed feelings.

I'm fairly sure my girlfriend's DS doesn't support WPA.

Could it be a firmware issue?

You can have your post back now.

Some DS's don't support WPA (including my girlfriend's), but at least a few people say that theirs do and from this thread it seems the same is going on with the Wii. I was wondering whether Nintendo had maybe started enabling WPA for the Wii and the DS in later firmware revisions.
Can you easily update the Wii's firmware in software or would it have to be done with flashing equipment? -
i just bought a PS3 this past saturday. I have had a lot of fun with it so far. main reason for the PS3 over 360..it comes with a full 1080p player included in the price. for 360 you pay $400 for the console + 200 for the HD-DVD player = the same price for a PS3 AND i got a free wireless controller when i bought the system. the games are a toss up IMO, they all depend on what you like. aside from that, i like the PS3 controller MUCH more then the 360 controller.
mainly...it depends on what games you like to decide which system to buy. 360 might have 1000 titles out, but you may not like any of them, and vice versa.
look at the selection of games from now till the end of the year, and make a decision based on that...or do what im planning on doing.. buy one now, then buy the other later -

I have a 360, my friends have a PS3. As such, I'll never have a need for a PS3. I will buy the new Gran Turismo and play it at their place though.
Forza Motorsports 2 is a great game though for the 360 if driving games are your passion. I got it last week and haven't been able to tear myself away from it.
If you've got a massive 1080p television, the PS3 will shine with blue-ray movies compared to the 360's add-on HD-DVD drive...but as of now, that's the only real advantage that I can think of.
I like the 360's menu system more, and if you connect it to your home network, it's a breeze to access media on your home PC's. It's kind of cool to be sitting in front of your tv and have an urge to hear *random song* and be able to bring it up on your console. -
It makes for a great experience.
And don't sell the 360 short 1080p wise as you can watch HD DVD in 1080p through either the newer HDMI connection or on the premium versions through VGA connection.
To me XBOX 360 is the only way to go. -
How about you don't stand your 360 up on the air intake vent? Trust me, if youi say you are having issues, I know that's what you are doing. -
Wait, it's not supposed to stand up but lie on the side? Maybe that's why mine broke 2 times. Oh well, it's fixed now and I still believe 360 is the way to go.
