I mean, how different is it from CoD 4? I already have 4, and I really love it, especially the multiplayer, but since there's no prestige options for the PC, it's starting to get boring... How is the CoD5 multiplayer? Are PC users able to prestige? Is it worth buying?

depends, do you like world war 2 games? If so, just take CoD4 and put it like that...then the question is: "is it worth $50 to change time periods". Now then, there are other great games out that i might take a look at. And don't forget what the next CoD is: Cod MW 2 aka Cod 6
-
cod5= cod4 with ww2 skin and prestige
-
the graphics have also improved decently and the maps are alot different, more immersive
-
There's many improvements over CoD4 like less nades, bigger maps to avoid nade spam, vehicules etc. but I wished Infinity Ward kept the developpement. In multiplier, I find that weapons are really unbalanced between those who have a higher rank and those who just started. But if you have a lot of time, you will enjoy CoD5 multiplier because there is a lot of time to reach rank 65. I personally prefer close-quarter maps from CoD4 than those giant maps in CoD5. I wouldn't mind playing this game but I could also live without it.

livesoft is correct, you start off with, imo, all the crappy weapons, not until about level 35 and up did I finally get weapons I used frequently.
-
Also you don't get rewards for doing the expert challenges (the head-shot ones). Kinda pointless IMO...so no skins or different colour guns. This might be more of a thing that bothers me though.
-
I really like the game myself. Been a fan since CoD1.
Yes, the game basically is CoD4 in WW2 with prestige mode, but being a fan of the series I still don't think this is a bad thing. Multiplayer is boring if all you do is TDM, but S&D and Sabotage are always fun and I love the War game type.
Some of the starting kits are pretty powerful; I was surprised how accurate the Type 99 kit was by default.
I like how well they balanced all the weapons; the StG 44, FG42, M1 Garand and a bunch of other guns finally "feel" right to me. I do think they nerfed the BAR compared to, say, CoD2. Technically, they all act more like they would in real life. Makes me wonder how terrible it would have been to see one of those Russian PPSh batallions coming after you in reality... -
try out left 4 dead if you don't have it. it is a very fresh FPS game that's normally very instense and is different from your regular military FPS game.
i have not played cod5 yet, however, playing cod from number 1-4, i got kinda upset when they went back to the WWII time period. not that i don't enjoy playing the WWII setting; moreso, it has been done way too much for me. though, my friends who have their consoles and cod5 love it. -

Can you Prestige on PC for CoD5 or is it just for consoles like CoD4?
I have played CoD5 with my friend on his PS3... The game feels just like CoD4 (which is not necessarily a bad thing), except the factions changed from those UN and Mideastern countries to US, Japan, Russia, and Germany. And they have different guns and maps. But the feel of the 4th and 5th installment are identical. -
yes you can prestige in PC world at war..
-
I wouldn't bother with CoD 5 unless you really like CoD games and love the WW2 setting.
I played it on Normal difficulty and most of the time I was just letting the NPC "team members" kill everyone, mainly because they never gave me a chance. Mind you I don't play the multiplayer portion of the game so I don't know what that's like.
Seems to me, from what I've read, that if your looking for a good MP FPS CoD4/5 is what you want, and from my experience of CoD 5 if you want only an SP FPS and you've had enough of WW2 CoD 5 isn't really worth a look at.
Crysis SP was better. -

No thank you, I hate Crysis with a passion.

I've logged about 65 hours online until I up picked Fallout 3 2 or 3 weeks ago. So that's taken me off WaW for a bit, but it's still mad fun and just thinking about it right now makes me wanna play
Now I never bought CoD4 so I'm on a different boat, but I would think you'd get your money's worth from WaW. The maps are nice and look gorgeous, the guns are as balanced as they can be for having bolt actions mixed with smgs, and there are plenty of low ping high player servers.

COD5 is an awesome game. It's basically the same as COD4 with a WW2 campaign and prestige.

The simple ability to Prestige is tempting me into buying it for myself for a Christmas present...
-
Go for it! You'll love it and it'll keep you busy for weeks! Go ahead, buy yourself something nice for this holiday season.
-
i didnt think it was any better than 4. and if all your doing is multi, then stick with 4.
-
Yeah cod4 is fare superior to codwaw as far as MP is concerned. codwaw might not even be able to have a competitive following at all (its the talk anyway). Buy left 4 dead.

i'm a gaming freak, and playing every single FPS, and ive got to say, COD5 is the best Game to represent WW2, its just wonderful!
and still, the multiplayer is great, big huge maps which allows every class to get kills. -
Should I get CoD5?
