i'm waiting a while...hopefully it ges better or bye bye crysis 2.
-
Ya when it gets hectic near the end with all the large battles going on, it would probably slow down quite a bit. That's why I'm playing it on very high which still (in my opinion) looks excellent!

I got all the information that i wanted on whether the GTX 485M would be capable of running Crysis II maxed out:
this is this is a lamp's review on lowyat: [USER REVIEW] Sager/Clevo Horize NP8150 (P150HM)
Hope i can take the liberty to post his review here. He is also on NBR i think.
Says he can run Crysis II on Hardcore with 30-50 FPS. Great News. He has posted a couple of screenshots as well. Highly recommend his review of the Sager NP8150. -
Kingpinzero ROUND ONE,FIGHT! You Win!
As far as im concerned with the game, i say go for it. The game is stunning in SP, story maybe isnt a block buster, but keeps things going (and its not that stupid like some big productions out there, at least, not that bad).
MP actually is fun, assuming it works ok for you (because alot of users around are reporting instability, but here it works perfectly fine.
The MP contains alot of maps and alot of game modes, which is fine, specially if you're on a mixed server. The various modes can keep you entertained every map/turn as they change (but you can stick to a preferred mode) randomly.
Its not a 10/10 game tbh, but a solid 8.5/10 here. Good SP, compelling MP, and it runs better than its predecessor.
Also i know that ill get flamed by the next sentence im about to write, but the "console" feel that they gave to the graphics (radial blur, motion blur, edge AA+MSAA,DOF etc etc) is really jaw dropping in some situations assuming you're running at least in very high, and i like it. -

Yeeeeeeeeeeeah, I'd say seeing as Steven's avatar is a picture of a gun... His opinion is probably just a little bit bias. Although it doesn't look too bad (the game).
-
I already got it anyways
Really loving the game! I made a great decision

Thanks a lot for the info. I wonder where VoOdOoVyPeR posted this initially. Or is he not on NBR??Last edited by a moderator: May 6, 2015 -
Wow this game looks sick but my Asus can't handle it at 1080p D:
-
That's surprising because you have a decently powerful CPU and GPU. Although it is pretty stiff with system requirements
-
VoOdOoVyPeR is not from NBR, I just posted it like that to make it clear it was their info. I am sure they would join this forum if they knew about it though
-
Apparently the GTS 360m has a 128 Bit Bus so maybe that limits it a little at high resolutions even if it does have GDDR5 VRAM.
-
Meh~ I run fine on my laptop on Extreme at 1920x1080 ._. There was never any lag
-
I got the game, but wow I'll have to go through some major cfg tweaking before I can get it to run at 30 fps minimum constantly. I get 25-30 with and frequent drops to 15 or less only on high. I tried extreme for fun and its pretty much 10-17 fps.

King of Interns Simply a laptop enthusiast
Been playing the game for first time tonight. At 1024x768 extreme settings and highest difficulty. My only gripes are cannot save the game when I want which wastes my time and the fact that I cannot go back to the hardest difficulty level now that I went down to veteran to see if that unlocked saving manually...sucks
-
You forget glitches with guns, if you die and reload saves you can't melee for like 5 minutes (including no stealth kills), sometimes you aren't allowed to pick up C4 or the JAWs even though you have less than full ammo with them (the option doesn't show up), sometimes the graphics in SP glitches, hackers in MP, ranks/unlocks/saves in MP don't always stick and will reset often, making you play extra time to re-do what you already did, no developer console for in-game FPS counters or net graphs that people use in CoD and Left 4 Dead/Team Fortress/etc.
As for your saved games not being as you please, that's because they wanted it sandboxed, so the game had to work the same for consoles too. I.E. we have to deal with all their dumbed-down ness. -
The game is worth getting, but when the price drops significantly.
Finished it yesterday and I'm disappointed:
- Shorter than Crysis and Warhead
- Inferior graphics and lack of built-in customization
- Stupid AI
- Checkpoint system, not manual save games
- Some bugs and glitches
- Disappointing end.
- As someone else said - the game is suffering from consolitis. -
*cough* Can't-run-without-suit-energy-because-suit-auto-maximum-speeds-when-sprinting-so-if-you're-cloaked-and-you're-shot-you-can't-even-run-away-as-your-energy-drops-to-0 *cough*
Who ever thought of that hacking cough I just had should be shot. -
In my opinion the answer is a definite yes, if you're into FPS at all.
I can honestly say that so far I am having THE best single player shooter experience on any system, PC or Console.
I am running the game @ 1280x720 4x AA high settings with modified autoexec.cfg for highest level of textures without the annoying blurring effects of extreme setting.
I get 45-60 fps average and I am currently playing in stereo 3d on my 120 inch projector display, which is very well optimized as the frame rate only drops by 2-5 fps average.
For anyone who has played the SP you can imagine how insane the game looks in stereo 3d at those frame rates on such a large display.
As far as the MP goes, I've just started getting into it today and after getting used to the modes and map play stiles the first couple of games, I am getting pretty good k/d and helping the team to win. So far 4 wins and 0 losses.
The MP is very fast paced and drives you to hustle to your objectives, which I enjoy in a multiplayer match. Nice change of pace from BFBC2 and it's more tactical approach to combat.
That's my .02 on Crysis 2, and my overall score on the game is 9.5/10. This one truly deserves my money

Question:
I want to buy Crysis 2 online and download, but if I buy from EA, do I need to be connected to the internet to play single player (like starcraft 2), or can it play offline? Does the retail BOX version allow offline play for single player?
Thanks for the help. -
Yep, no connection required to play SP in Crysis 2.
-
Thanks
10 CHAR -
Altough I don't recommed the MP, I REALLY recommend the SP.
-
That's my thought. I really like Single Player games, so looking for something fun.
-
Does the game run in CF mode yet? Specs are:
i7 920xm, CF 5870 and 4 gig ram. Can I run on settings better than on my 360 or ps3??? -
easily you should be able to run it better then your ps3
-
The devs claim the lowest setting on the PC, high, is higher than console settings. It's impossible to run the game on lower settings than console then.
-
I really recommend this game for the campaign mode. It's really fun and you get to experiment different types of tactics depending on the scenario.
-
Thanks for the responses. So can anyone answer about the crossfire issues that were reported? Does crossfire indeed work? That second card really would be a big help for resolution and some of the extra eye candy as I can't fully max out the old crysis with good framerates (mostly a mix of high/very high and they still dip from time to time).
-
I lost the cd that came with crysis but I have a cd key is there anywhere to download the game for free then just enter the key?
-
1.Install steam
2. go to Games tab in the top then click on Activate a Product on Steam...
3. then enter your cd key there, after doing that you should be able to download the game off Steam -
Nope, because it's not a steamworks game.
You can activate and DL it with EADM. -
Good to hear!
I'm downloading the game from EA right now. Only 40% more to go! -
Oh nice, EADM is pretty neat. Yea Crysis 2 SP is the most ROCK ON fps experience I've ever had, bar none.
-
so lets say i buy one through steam. My friends will not be able to join matches and so on like left for dead??
Should I get Crysis 2?
