The 7600 256mb will run HL2, CSS, maxed out easily.

I would suggest lowering your cpu to a T2400 as you save money and wont notice a performance hit unless you do encoding or decoding of some sort alot.

And replace that with another gig of RAM, its really helpful for games like BF2 and Oblivion, everything else looks in order.

Should be a great system for games. However, if you would like more recommendations (perhaps less-expensive options), completing the FAQ in the What Should I Buy forum would be helpful.

Yeah, Alienwares tend to be a bit (alot) overpriced.

As you have it configured, that system will run you $1899 (assuming you want the DVD burner as well). And that's without any sort of extended warranty. You can buy a Compal HEL80 with 2 GB RAM and the 1680x1050 WSXGA+ display from Powernotebooks.com for about $1750 and that includes a case and 3-year next business day warranty.

You're spending the extra money for the name, nothing more.

You can get a S96J/Z96J with that config for around $1499 with 2gigs of ram and the same HDD and CPU.

Except you will have an X1600 256mb which is just as good as the 7600 256mb.

As mentioned already, there are other 15.4" gaming machines that can do the same things for less money.

That one is a great gaming laptop, even if there is cheaper ones and i don't now how support is with alienware, i think you should cahnce a chance with that one, it't has plenty of style as most alienware. If you don't like you ca just return it.
