Should I put in the Nvidia Geforce?

    Greets,

I have an ati mobility x1300 with 128mb total (technically 59mb is AGP or shared with my ram) installed in my e1505. A Geforce Go 7300 256mb total (what i suppose is 128 mb AGP) has happened to stumble across my path.

Reading your forums I've found most of you compare the x1300 and the Go 7300 as being relatively similar; However i have also found most of these comparisons describe the x1300 as being a 256 mb card.

Therefore i have a few questions:
    1) does the x1300 come in various memory sizes? (Because it's hard to find the card i have discussed on your forums)
    2) would i benefit from swapping out from my 128mb x1300 for my 256 mb go 7300?
    3) if so would you recommend i use a specific set of drivers for my XP system?

    Thanks in advance!

    -Duff

There is no benefit to the upgrade you are proposing. Only the X1400 is a better option for your notebook, and it isn't that much more powerful anyway.

Oh, and the GPU needs to be a Dell-specific part...otherwise it will not work.

The part i have is the dell specific part.
However, what I guess i can't quite understand is how can a +128mb upgrade not improve my graphics processing.

It should improve your GFX overall. Besides the memory, it appears to also have 3 vertex pipelines vs 2 on the x1300:

FYI, according to those links, the memory seems roughly equal. Both have 64MB. The 7300 seems faster in speed, but narrower in bus making the memory ~ the same.
