a bit more info is needed before anyone can advise.

    what computer make and model,
    what games are affected,
what is your ambient room temperature and what temperatures are you getting for cpu/gpu x2
what benchmarks are you getting compared to others. run 3dmark, 3dmark11,vantage found in my sig below.
are you running on mains power or battery and have you got it set to high performance.

what is your ambient room temperature and what temperatures are you getting for cpu/gpu x2, Only been checking GPU tbh. Primary card 87 - 89 secondary hit 90 - 91... room temp of 25

what benchmarks are you getting compared to others. run 3dmark, 3dmark11,vantage found in my sig below.

3d mark 11 i get a score of p12576 (less than sli gtx780m) and gfx score of 15390 (again less than 780m)

are you running on mains power or battery and have you got it set to high performance. . yes its plugged in and yes its on high performance.

It's a known issue for a while now, the cards throttle because there's no way they can maintain the 993MHz boost clock with the default TDP (even 954MHz stock clock is dicey). And if you do give them enough juice by using an unlocked vBIOS, then they start trottling because they just run too hot and hit throttling temp.

Check out this thread and the thread it links to on the GeForce forums.

Until nVidia releases a proper vBIOS there is no fixing this problem.

Haha that's kind of how I feel. I'd be more than slightly annoyed if my machine comes back with 880Ms in it >_<. I want to stay far from those things.

I suggest asking them for 780Ms if possible, and also using max fans (fn + 1 usually) when gaming for extra cooling. Auto fans don't hit the max speed on their own and will effectively cause your cards to overheat under heavy load. If you're up for some modding of your own you can buy separate heatsinks and Coollaboratory Liquid Ultra thermal paste and follow this guide to get a little bit of extra cooling out with the extra heatsinks. Eventually the temps will come down I think =D.

I brought Scan 3XS 1710 and i have to say their customer support is good. I got few problem with my system and they fixed it quickly.

If you search the forum you can see quite a few 880M user have similar problems like you. It seems cards running hot and throttle down to maintain the safe temp limits. This is a issue created by the nvidia and they need to fix it. I don't think scan can fix the issue. Try to ask for 780M cards and you can simply OC them to the 880M level.

right scan are saying that precision is miss reporting my cards clock speeds..

Ben AtScan Hi Kevin have you checked with the monitoring on screens that the Heaven and Valley benchmark use as the Precision one can misreport

Ben AtScan What games are you also getting the slow downs in please ?

Ben AtScan Can you also test these with EVGA Precision uninstalled

Are they just trying to fob me off here?

they may be unaware of all the issues that have been happening with the 880m cards. If you do a search of the forums here we have threads here ( mostly in the Clevo and Alienware sections ) and a few members have a long running thread going at the Nvidia forums as well.

    http://forum.notebookreview.com/alienware/746259-my-nvidia-gtx-880m-test-run-review.html
    https://forums.geforce.com/default/...here-new-drivers-look-for-a-nvidia-response-/

Just two examples I could find quickly the first thread is very long and gets detailed and links to other information

nVidia had a representative, Pidge, who asked users to give system BIOS samples (never vBIOS) and apparently he grabbed a laptop of unknown origin and played at a LAN party for a night with it and found no problems. Shortly afterward, he stopped replying and nVidia never spoke of the matter again.

Basically, they know, acknowledged it and said they'd investigate, shut up about it, then about 3 months later the hype about Maxwell began. It's not getting fixed. Ever.

Yeh I lost a lot of respect for Nvidia and how they handled this issue. They admitted there was a problem and were looking into it. We've not heard back since and assume they've fitted Pidge with a gag ball.

If we were honest with ourselves, did we really expect nVidia to actually do something though? Just look back to soldergate and how nVidia handled it back then.

They have no competition so they can afford themselves to just loudly ignore it.
    As you said yourself:

I am happy i don't have this issue.

Well I have confirmation of my replacement. Same specs as last time just 980s instead of the 880s. Just got to wait on scan to get hold of the Clevo shell.

Can't fault them for how they have handled this now.

There is always the alternative AMD. Sure no competing products to Maxwell now. Q1 2015 let's see. That might be the best fix to 880M SLI users if it decently outperforms current mobile Maxwell.........at a cheapish price

The alternative AMD hasn't been in the power class of any card beyond the 680Ms... the M295X is out in Macs, but the performance falls below 970Ms as far as people have seen, and there's no guarantee it'll be supported in any existing notebook. It also appears to top out at 4GB vRAM too.
