Heres probably going to be one of my last updates on my laptops GPU OCing sessions. Heres what i hit (havent tested with gaming yet, will update later)
Latest testing clocks:
600/731
temps: internet browsing: 56'ish degrees Celcius
Gaming: not tested yet
while running 3Dmark: 65~ degrees Celcius (max 68~ degrees celcius)
Should i continue to venture further in OC'ing? i think i have ALOT more room to overclock cuz my temperatures ARENT changing at all no matter how much i push my card.
I gotta hand it to you Zalman NC1000 ol' pal. You do a fine job![]()

That's personal preference.
I personally wouldn't overclock at all, to retain maximum life of components. But, if you're happy with the performance you have now, I'd say keep it as is.

Your temperatures are more than fine. What I do is find the limit of my card via ATI Tool's artifact scanner and then drop the clocks a bit below the max.
-
Could you guys estimate/predict the expected life span of my GPU at those clocks? 2 years +?
-
I just downloaded ATITOOL and it wont let me find out the max core/memory because it says that
"the video card you seem to be using is not compatible with windows. Visual Testing has been disabled. To fix this, go to Display Properties, Settings and enable the monitor output of the card."
Thats kinda confusing for my current knowledge :S -

Please keep it on-topic in this thread, thank you.
It's impossible to predict the lifespan of your GPU. As long as it isn't overheating it should be fine but I make no guarantees. No one can give you a guarantee.
I see you are using . . . Vista. I use XP and ATT works fine for me. I suggest a Google search to see if it even works with Vista. -
ATItool works fine on x64 Vista. Well the artifact scanner anyway.
Dont use 3dmark to watch for max temps. Play an intensive game for at least 30mins and watch your max temps go higher. I noticed i got 4-5c higher when gaming, im guessing because the gpu is constantly stressed out compared to 3dmark -
Did you monitor your temps with similiar core speeds before using the Zalman cooler?
Does it seem to work?
For everyday computing and gaming I have my T61p propped up at about a 35 degree angle.
I have a Honeywell 10" fan blowing air on it's side and underneath.
An office fan.
Seems to do the job.
Should i continue OCing?
