    Hello guys,
Si i love m15x but it has become a desktop for the past 2 years. I was thinking on selling it for 500 usd (have interested party already) and build a new desktop on the order of 850 usd.
Now I was offered a 6990m from a dead m18x for 100 usd and I am thorn on what to do.

More data: I have a good monitor, kB and mouse. My m15x has 8 GB and ssd 120 plus HDD 500gb and i7 720. Works OK but getting old.

Will appreciate any feedback a lot.
    Thx!

I would sell it and get a new desktop. Can you sell it without an SSD?

    6990M isn't that great tbh.

A bit old and very hot. The newer 7970M runs much cooler and practically doubles the performance. Yes I talk from personal experience in terms of the cards and laptop.

Sell it unless you are happy to invest better into the laptop. Put a better cpu and gpu basically.

500usd for the M15x with dead GPU is very good value considering you also only have a small SSD and weak cpu.

So either invest heavily or sell. Your choice. The 6990M is not a choice :)

Thanks guys, I think I will sell then, was not sure but feared 6990m was not going to give me much joy.

Indeed, 6990M isn't worth it.... What are the specs of your new desktop?

As much as I like my M15x's I think you are doing the right thing if it's really a desktop now. Buy the desktop and don't look back. You are getting a premium price for that M15x considering the components.
