I'm personally looking forward to Crysis but its release date keeps getting pushed back.
It's not like my next notebook will be able to play any games anyway. -
I heard it's (Crysis) gonna be released in 6 months. I hope I can run it with the lowest setting possible... ha ha...

Bioshock:

Water effects are purty. -
HAHAHA i remember at E3 (if you want to still call it that) that the 8800 debue with Quake Wars, had trouble. FFS cant these people make something that will run on current computers, with out making people spend 4 million dollars a year on gaming hardware.
-
Crysis always looks incredible when I see screenies of it. That is where my vote goes.
-
I can't wait for Team fortress 2/ episode 2/ portal.. even though I haven't gotten episode 1 year (I'll get it when they come out)

Crysis definitely, but I will hopefully be building a new desktop machine to handle in Fall 2007.

I've been looking foreward to Bioshock since Game Informers first preview of it. Seems like it'll be a great game. -

CRYSIIIIIIIIS!
I saw it at GDC running on a Kentsfield quad core and an 8800GTX and while it doesn't look quite like the bullshots that get released, it's still VERY impressive to behold. It FEELS next generation.
The others I'm just not impressed with. Screenshots are always awesome, but the problem is that they tend to feel very posed and the finished game seldom looks like these promos do.
Doom 3, for example, while gorgeous did not look like this.
You see what I mean.
So my vote goes for Crysis, because I've actually seen it and it's actually nuts.
Oh, and thumbs down for Unreal Tournament III. I saw the engine running on a PS3 and honestly, it just looks like 2004 with a few more polys. Definitely not the monster jump they want us to believe it'll be, and nowhere near the jump between UT and UT2K3. -
HL2, Crysis and Quake is the best of all... Others look cheesy, especially Age of Conan.. stick to WoW...
-
most of these games are not exactly what someone would call demanding, since they are also coming to 360 and ps3.
GRAW 2 uses the same engine as its prequel, so if GRAW was playable on your system, so will GRAW 2.
as for HL:episode 2 and Quake wars:enemy territory, they use a slightly modificated versions of the source, doom 3 engines respectively, so don't worry.
a true graphically demanding game is crysis, which i think that only the guys at NASA will be able to play at max settings, as for the rest of us, low settings is the only way to go, or maybe not.
games that use the unreal 3 engine will also be very demanding, but if you have a decent GPU, like something above 7600/7700 gs you will be able to run most of them at mid-settings, which is good -
the screenshot you posted for doom 3 is nothing spectacular, and the game can definetly look like that, provided you had a high-end system back then, and a mid-end system by today's standards.
as for unreal tournament III( it's offecial name is unreal 3 now), i think it's really weird that you chose to check ps3 version, since there are many in-game footages for the pc version out there, and they all look spectacular.
you can't judge the game and say it's bad, only because an inferior port of it(ps3) doesn't look good. -
Well, sort of.
I can tell that screen shot is using more per pixel stencil shading, and soft shadows then the normal game was.

Why didn't Oblivion look like this?

Load the video called chapter 1. -
I'm really looking foward to Quake Wars. I'm pretty sure they'll release a native Linux client for that.

I checked the PS3 version in person because that was what was on display at GDC; the PC one was behind closed doors. Also keep in mind the game is being developed in tandem for PS3 and PC, and that the PS3 has the horsepower to spare to render it well. But feel free to watch the videos of it online, and notice how they don't actually look all that much better than UT2004 despite requiring substantially more horsepower.
I think Zellio's example of the video for Oblivion is a great one, too. That game doesn't have anywhere near that kind of complex lighting, and I've run it on a 7950GT with everything maxed. That's a good example of how early promotional footage usually looks that much better than the released game. -
Mr._Kubelwagen More machine now than man
I've been waiting for Crysis... Hopefully my laptop I get this summer will be able to run it well enough...
