I know it's probably been mentioned a hundred times, but looking through the forums I was unable to find an answer to my question of:
Is there / how do I change the amount of RAM being "shared" with the integrated graphics chip.
If someone can give me an answer here or direct me to a proper thread, it would be much appreciated.

You have to go into the BIOS to change it.

I am not sure aobut the SIS chipset on how to change the amount of shared memory for video. In some other chipsets that I have owned with shared memory, this is usually controlled by the BIOS. you might want to give this a try
Just a thought. -
Allright so I have to go into BIOS, I'm assuming it is some sort of buffer change?
Heheh the problem is I know just enough about software and hardware to be a bit of a hazard to myself. Built my desktop and stuff, but I'm afraid to mess this laptop up, because it isn't easy to access/repair. -
Well my desktop has SiS graphics... and I can change the memory being used by going to the desktop, right click, properties, settings tab, advanced, and then one of those tabs might have the option of changing the amt. memory used.

Hi i have a acer 5050 laptop, with 2gb of ram, i want to change the shared graphics up to 512mb because i want to play crysis.
But the problem is it wont let me raise the shared graphics above 256mb, and crysis is a highly graphical game it laggs a lot at 256mb shared.
does anyone lnow of a way i can raise the graphics above 256mb.
thanks -
an IGP lacks graphics processing power, giving it more shared ram is not going to improve it's performance. otherwise those 8800mgtxs just won't sell.
you need a more powerful graphics card like a 8600m gt/hd 2600. -
Adding more shared memory to your video card won't help, the problem is that SIS is an integrated video card NOT meant for gaming.

Integrated GPU+Crysis= Incompatible.

SiS is one of the weakest IGPs on the market, don't expect any performance from it, not to mention Crysis. Feeding it with more VRAM will not make much difference.
