Whenever I put in the Sims 2 to play, an error screen pops up that reads "Application has crashed. Application will now terminate."

It happens every time I select a town to play in. In other words, it gets to the screen where you select the town (Pleasant View, Stragetown, etc.) but it crashes during that loading screen.

I've searched and searched the EA Tech support page for solutions, but nothing is helping. I can't seem to find a number to call for help either.

I've cleaned the disk, disabled all Emulators, closed all background programs, restarted my computer, installed the latest patch for the game, and even attempted to update my drivers.

Any advice would be very helpful! :D

It's EA's way of saying, "Hey, Sims 3 is out now. Buy it!"

I am running on Windows Vista 64 bit, but it still doesn't work, even in compatibility mode.

This case is possible and most likely. When you first installed the game. A file could have been corrupt thus not letting you load the rest of the game. So I recommend you to go to the shop where you got the game and ask for a new one.

    Did you try re-installing it?

What Graphics card do you have? Make sure its compatible with the game.
