    Sim City 4 Deluxe Widescreen?

    Hey

    Well Sim City 4 is old but for me still enjoyable, the only problem is the lack of widescreen res. I found this on the issue:

    The only problem is I dont not understand adding that after the "target", I tried what I thought it meant and undid it since the game would not launch.

    Help would be great thanks.

    EDIT: I am trying to run at 1440 by 900

    They probably mean editing the startup shortcut.

    Go to the game shortcut, which you can find in the start menu folder under Maxis. Right-click the shortcut to the .exe file titled " Simcity 4 Deluxe" and click Properties. Then go to the Shortcut tab in the info box that pops up. There is a text field for Target in which you type: "C:\Program Files\Maxis\SimCity 4 Deluxe\Apps\SimCity 4.exe" -CustomResolution:enabled -r1440x900x32 -f -intro:eek:ff

    Make sure you type the bold portion, quotes and all. Better yet, copy and paste it directly. Boot the game. It will now have the custom resolution enabled.

    Thanks waldo. I did what you said, but it wont let me do it I get error and it wont let me even save target as that. I have SC4 on a seperate partition BUT i did rewrite the path so it should have worked. Any ideas?

    I had the target written with a character off the first time I tried this modification, but the game still loaded properly, just without the custom resolution. I think something else is the problem. It sounds as if the partition could be the issue, but I would not know since I don't regularly load files from one.

    Well I did it the old fashioned way. I sat there pressing enter over and over on the error and what do I know 14 minutes later it accepted it and worked :D thanks!

    Wide-screen support:

    -r1280x800x32 -CustomResolution:enabled

    Open SimCity 4 Deluxe desktop short-cut icon properties, add the above line with a space in "Target", so it looks like this:

    "C:\Program Files\Maxis\SimCity 4 Deluxe\Apps\SimCity 4.exe" -r1280x800x32 -CustomResolution:enabled

    Wide-screen resolutions supported:

    1280 X 800
    1440 X 900
    1680 X 1050
    1920 X 1200

    I only tested with 1280X800, worked perfectly. try this resolution first. and make sure you update the game first.
