Just got my new Dell 1555 today and installed my Sims 2 games and expansion packs, they all installed fine but when I go to actually play, nothing happens! I click on the link, or via programs, and the first picture comes up, then it just stops. I've checked in Task Manager and its definitely not running....
Is this a Vista issue maybe? Can anyone shed some light??
Cheers

If it is Vista 64,the Sims 2 maybe having some compatability issues. Have you tried adding it to the DEP Exclusions list?
-
Have you installed all the latest patches?
Also, you could try running the game in XP Compatibility Mode. -

A different video driver *might* help.

Sims 2 sometimes has trouble with multi core processors, so try setting its affinity to only 1 core (in task manager or with a program).
As FoxTrot1337 said, add it to the DEP list (Data Execution Prevention) To do this, follow these directions http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/65790-dep-turn-off-programs.html
Sims 2 wont work on new Dell with Vista :(
