    Will a Dell with:

    Intel Core 2 Duo T5870 2GHz
nVIDIA GeForce Go 8400M GS 128MB
    Ram 4GB

    able to play Sims 3?
(I know that the req's for the game aren't out yet but still, do you think it's possible?)

I believe I read somewhere that Sims 3 will require a 128MB graphics card with support for PS 2.0. You're good in that respect, and your RAM and processor will probably meet the requirements, but it looks like you will just barely meet the minimum needed to run. If it does run, I have a feeling it will be a slideshow on everything but the lowest settings.

The 9300m GS is comparable to the 8400m GS so expect roughly the same results.

    +1

The 8400m/9300m series should be able to run the game on low at least.

I think that 8400 gs is slower to both 9200 and 9300 gs.
Or, better, 3dmark06 results say that.
I think that Sims 3 would run with low/med settings on a 8400 gs

I think they said that if your computer can run the sims 2 it will run the 3 fine. From what I say it doesn't look like they have improved the graphics that much, not that the cartoony style can be enhanced anyway....
