    Which config is the fastest?

I'm looking to buy a new laptop and don't know what config that will work best for games for the next 2~~ years, also wondering, will they be able to handle new games for about that long?

    8800M GTX.

Heck, you would be better off getting the GTS, as opposed to SLI'd 8700.

SLI just isn't worth it. Driver issues + lack of game support + more heat = :(

Depends if the games supports SLI or not. If it does, expect something like 40% more performance?

    Here goes my two cents:
Chaz did a review with several games on the SLI 8700m-GT. Most of the games did not get more than 30% increase if so, only UT III (if I recall correctly, it was only one of the reviewed games) got 100% increase.

go for 8800MGTX all the way. no buts.

if you want even more performance, you could try 8800M gtx sli, if you crazy rich.

Depends on the game, games like Oblivion can give a 80% boost actually. All depends on game and drivers. But of course I prefer SLI over a single one. Crysis for instance supports SLI and runs better with dual GPU´s than a single one for instance.

For that money you might as well buy a gaming desktop + a laptop that's actually portable (ie Dell 1530/1330).

pains me that in my my situation, a desktop woldnt really be pratical, hence i purchaced a gaming laptop, knowing full well for the same price i can get a really bad boy desktop.
